Rumour from guppyville has it that two contract prospects await him in Japan & he's debating whether to switch to prop or go with the more lucrative sumo wrestling offer .

It was 118kg last time which made him the heaviest backline player since Jona Lomu.
If he switches to sumo wrestling he could be make even more of a success of jumping between sporting codes than Sonny Bill Williams. Frans Steyn will at least not have to rig a Sumo fight to win it.
Yeh, he won The Eating Championship Contest in Japan last weekend. He ate 2 Sumo wrestlers and still was not full so he started on the crowd before being restrained by the police. It is reported that one policeman lost a hand though. MacDonalds have are preparing a long term contract.

15. JP Pietersen - Has the size and hallmarks to be a great fullback. We are in a fortunate situation that we no longer need him on the wing. I never wanted to change him from a wing as he was one of the best in the world there but I think he is more than mature enough to become a great fullback entering the line at pace with his size.
14. Willie Le Roux - Brings something to the Bok setup that we have lacked for many a year. As long as he keeps going well, leave him at 14.
13. Jan Serfontein - He can be a Springbok great and will likely be one of those players that , like De Villiers, will be around for over a decade. Lets hope he stays pretty much injury free. JJ Engelbrecht went missing in Brisbane last week a little. He did nothing wrong but hardly saw him either.
12. Jean De Villiers - Who else is better right now? No one. That is a fact. He is still our best option at 12 and playing as well as ever. He is damn important to the Boks right now!
11. Bryan Habana - Still has plenty to give and seeing him strip Folau like he was looking for parking down the left touchline was testament to what Bryan can still do. The resulting break leading to a chip kick well fielded by Kruger and a try to JDV that sealed Aussies fate. Lets prep JJ for Habana's departure.
10. Morne Steyn - Seems to be gaining confidence again and we can not discount what his boot has done for us. We would not be leading the Rugby Championship table without him as we would have lost to the Argies in Mendoza. He is throwing some nice long passes and freeing up our exciting backs. Good on you Morne'. I have not seen Goosen play in a while but I doubt he can command a game like Morne can right now.
9. Charl McCleod - Realistically, we can not have Fourie Du Preez back now but I reckon McCleod is playing some pretty good rugby and has been consistently for the past few years. It was this form that saw him become a Bok but he was disgarded before even given a fair chance really. He has plenty pace, plenty passion, a good boot and good service. He has been a steady performer for the Sharks for a number of years now and the Sharks results will prove this.
Not sure about JP at 15, but I like the rest. I agree McLeod is a fine scrumhalf
I think playing JP at fullback would be an excellant idea, especially as Willie and Habana are certainties at wing.
JP started his career as a fullback and played for the Sharks for over a year or so.
Dick Muir I believe moved him to wing because his kicking game at the time was not that strong.
However as JP's kicking game has improved over the years I also think he would be a good fullback. He is solid under the high ball.
The prospect of him linking with Habana, or scissor runs with Leroux could be exceptional.
End of the year tour JP will be available again, so this could happen.
Bow now Krichner hurry hurry, combined well with LeRoux- so the JP could only be much better.

i dont get what the hype is about jp pietersen. he looks too lazy and i dont remember him being an attacking threat. im pretty sure his days are numbered now willie is giving the boks so much spark that they havent had. i cant remember the last time cthe boks had two great wingers in one team so this looks really exciting. jp has to fight against the regular 15s and i dont see that happening. kirchner, aplon, pietersen, lambie and a few others are way ahead there. so its bye bye pietersen.

Steyn was returning to form before his injury.
Outside center seems to suit him more than inside center where he hogs the ball to much.
Not sure what happened to his kicking game. He used to be the best long distance drop kicker and pole kicker in the world. Not sure how his weight could have such a massive impact on his kicking.
If he gets his speed back by getting fit, which he should do considering that he is now living in South Africa where it is warmer- then he should be back again.
His rock launcher clearance kicks from fullback would help the Bok territory game plan considerably.
