 Had a beer for some mates at our local RSL then Birthday party for my youngest child .Being born on ANZAC day means I cant ever forget her birthday !

 Touche! My daughter is born the day after so I can't forget either.

Our wedding anniversary is on Hitler's birthday....trying hard to forget that!

Actually .....I really shouldn't tell this story it's embarrassing....but this year I got the date wrong. So we celebrated on the 19th instead of the 20th. The next morning, as I was reading the papers I noticed the date..and we had a great old time laughing and reflecting on just how senile we had become. Still in the LOR vein we had 'second dinner'.

My wife and I gradually moved to a more muted celebration - 43 years is a lot of "marital bliss" to celebrate.

 Cloudy, well "muted" didn't involve a muzzle but I'm sure my wife wanted to use one on me from time to time.
Congrats Moz, we are lucky men to have had such women in our lives for so many years.

 Moz my wedding anniversary is the day before ANZAC day ,so no excuses for not remembering!29 years we have been together .Regards to your girl Denny ,we bought tickets to see "the Book of Mormon " in Melbourne as a pressie so the family is flying off tomorrow .

 Just finished reading a book about the Beechey brothers (Brit migrants to Australia) & how they paid the ultimate price for King & country. All eight went to fight in WW1, only three would return alive.

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old ....

Unbelievable how young these kids were. There is a cemetary for German soldiers in Greece in the hills between North Athens and the sea...a forlorn place, nobody in Greece cared about German dead. But the place is well maintained and the names are there to see......17 years old, 18 years old, rarely over 20. Very sad. . WD enjoy your Book of Mormon....I saw it once, good fun.

 Spot on Moz, I had to wait long for my partner to see the light...or for myself to commit properly, but I refused to settle for less. Only 13 years, but I knew I was right after 1 month. We got married within six month of dating...after knowing each other for 12 years.

What happened to the high divorce rate! Sounds like you are happilly settled as well Draad....granted it took you 11 years and 6 months to persuade your better half that you were good enough to date!
