Dyantyi must already be the SA new player of the year, but if he continues his form he should easily take SA player of the year. He is an exceptional player with lots of natural talent, and it appears he is going to get better.

Apparently, he started as a flyhalf and then moved to outside centre, and now he is on the wing.

Last year the Boks outside backs were pathetic, but with Willie Leroux and Dyantyi they are suddenly world class. The Boks will score tries with them both on the field.

Dyantyi chases the high ball really well, which is very important in test rugby. He is a thinking player, that does not give away stupid penalties tackling the opposition catcher in the air, preferring to slow down if he is too far to compete, and instead time the hit as the jumper lands.

He's the first world class wing since Habana, it's been a long wait. Interesting, there hasn't been a world class white wing since James Small, I guess it's a numbers game or perhaps Mum's don't want their boys to play the game?

JP was world class. Both JP and Habana were wasted under Peter though. The last great white wing? I can't recall the very last. I think Terblanche and Rossouw were the last. Dyanti has nice positional awareness. He can read play well and is skilled. He has everything Mvovo lacked. Mpimpi had his moments too. Both had moments where they had to think quick and make the right decision when play broke down. The back three is very good, and Willie is playing a more accurate game. The halfback are good and the centres stable.

True, it has been ages since there was a quality white winger. James Small was good, and Peter Rousouw was also quality. Terblanche was ok.
Chester Williams was top quality but was injured most of his career, and Breyton Paulse was very good. JP was good before he became too slow. Did not really cut it as an outside centre .

Habana was the best of the lot, but Dyantyi has the potential to keep improving. Not as fast as Habana but he is more physical.
Good to see more black players coming through the systems, and easily being the best in their position. If this continues, the quota crap may just disappear by itself. The issue is having more black players in the forwards that are top quality

I lean towards the indigenous players being more prone to being backs not forwards, loose forwards perhaps but not front or second rowers. Black stars will create more black interest in the game and with the numbers available we are in for interesting times.....it might even cause the death of the quota system. We might even see ou CC supporting the camels and donkeys instead...

Dyantyi is a player in the Campesi mould, but with much more pace. Early days, but he is already a delight to watch.

The quota system is a subversive means of eradicating the participation of an entire race of people. Anyone even remotely intelligent would acknowledge that participation numbers are fluid, you cannot determine that a fixed percentage is always going to be available. Equality of output, not opportunity. How sad it was that Thabo Mbeki, a despicable Afrocentrist, could see what so many couldn't. He supported Jake White and called for more work to be done at grassroots level. Even he got it. The powers that be have one thing in mind, to eradicate White people, even if it means destroying themselves in the process. You can't be more hateful then that.

I agree with black South Africans suit the back three in particular. There are more of other backline positions too. Forwards, that will be harder to overcome. The Afrikaner descend from one of the tallest people on earth. They have extreme mass and strength to go with that. Even Polynesians don't have an answer to that. Samoa could bully our backs, but our forwards were always too powerful. When we have had black forwards, so many have been from Zimbabwe. Of the number of black South Africans who could be forwards, who is to say they even want to play rugby? All the successful Black players in the world may not be enough to inspire them to play, or take any interest in the sport. Soccer will always be number one anyway.

In the end, I don't care about numbers of representation. The entire concept is flawed, racist, bigoted, prejudiced and ultimately hateful. Select the best. There will inevitably be selections that are questionable or debatable where competition is tighter, but if results follow? Who can complain? If it's all black or all white. We should be able to support whoever the merit sections are. I'd love to see black Americans be told that their numbers have to drop because they are a minority. I bet that would go down well.

Yep, it's pretty clear that he's a cut above the rest.

One thing to keep in mind is the guy that is finding these players and the coach that is picking them.

Would any other coach have started both Dyanti and Nkosi at the beginning of his tenure?

Always good to see very young guys blooded and immediately taking to the top level like they were born to do it. One just has to remember to give credit to the guys giving them a shot.

I have to say, I see a lot of the young Habana in Dyanti. It is still early days, and he has not yet faced top opposition in test rugby. But the signs are very good.

Also, I agree with the sentiment that these guys are including themselves in the team, no need for quotas. Unfortunately, there is another reality that must be admitted. South African w hite players are more suited to forward play simply because of genetics. While whites tend not to make great wingers for the same genetic reasons, they do tend to be bigger people, so just on the law of averages, they should make up the majority of the forwards, where size is a definite advantage.

Disagree. I think what they're saying is that majority rules regardless of whether it's in the sporting arena or anywhere else but I agree, no matter how it's cut it is racist. On a level playing field merit is the only criteria on which to be judged. South Africa must be the most colour conscious country in the world.

Indeed Denny, majority should and does rule.

But when a majority in 100% control fail and then try to save face by seeking to discriminate against a minority as a scapegoat, that's when when it's time to pick up a rifle.

I think Dyanti is not a quota selection and is in the team on merit.   As to the rest of the comment their is an ANC campaign against all Whites - especially by the Zuma supporters still in the ANC.  They blamed the Whites and the media for the firing of Zuma as President,  He is crooked - but so is his supporters who carried on looting of massive proportion with his help.

There really is no future for Whites, Coloureds and Indians in this country -  once they got rid of the Whites - they will go for the Coloureds and Indians - anybody with any possessions to be looted is under thread,

This country is goin g down - more rapidly than most believe.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, Le Roux and the gameplan that is being implemented are really benefiting the wingers at the moment. He has been solid in defence but hasn't been targeted by other teams yet. He has yet to show a true individual effort at scoring a try, a something from nothing case . In saying all this I am happy that he hasn't let the team down and there is obviously room for him to develop further.
A white winger we've let slip through our system is Duhan Van der Merwe, he tore up the second half of the Pro14 when he joined Edinburgh for the latter half of the season. He's what I'd imagine Spies to be like had he stayed on the wing. Sadly he looks to become a future Scottish international, unless something changes.

Well Plum, the ANC is under pressure from the EFF and you would know that populous is the flavor, it works well amongst the unemployed, the impoverished and the ignorant. The land grab is a typical example for the EFF to milk and Malemna will be at his vociferous best when he goes on the campaign trail. The ANC has turned it's back on minority groups so as to win votes from the black majority and have made whites their whipping boy. I don't believe the ANC hate white people, t hey are doing the same to the mixed race and Indians.

The ANC are made up of Afrocentrists. I cannot exclaim how racist that ideology is. It's the most ridiculously racist and errant belief I have ever come across. That whites were an experiment concocted by black scientists thousands of years ago, that they are not human, that blacks invented everything that exists today before any other race. We even hear how the Hebrews, Egyptians, Greeks, Scandinavians, Brits, Chinese, Southern American tribes et al were all originally black. They essentially claiming sole right to every inch of planet earth. Not only on a physical level, but a spiritual one too. The non-black inhabitants would be foolish to be optimistic, particularly as the current president has spoken openly for as long as I can remember about stripping whites of everything. Even violently. He has no regard for whites. The funny thing is this, once the whites are subdued and eliminated, the race will be on for another enemy and eventually Blacks themselves will be the slaves again. South Africa could have been so much more, but has determined to be the very least of everything. I do mean the very least.

Shezza

Believe it or not Duhan is the brother of Akker van der Merwe - the hooker.   He was brilliant as a junior and in fact played in sevens and the JWC for SA - so he cannot play for any other international side.

He then made the wrong move and was in the Bulls squad - where he was totally neglected and then went to Montpellier and played a few games for them as well.   He moved to Scotland subsequently, where as you said he made hay.

It is a pity that largely due to the quota system he will never be an SA wing.   Maybe with special permission he could end up playing for Scotland - but I do not think SARU would be party to such a change since it would open another floodgat e of departees. .

Ray Mordt and Carel du Plessis musn't have got the genetic message. The absence of white wings probably has more to do with the fact that a young white bloke doesn't have a picture in his head of himself playing wing...so he tries centre or fullback. JJ and Kriel are both wings, and would have been better there. I'm not saying they were test material, just illustrating the selection anomoly.

So many tales in this thread.

This guy is another quota player. He was not even trained as a rugby player. He wanted to become a football player. Which could have been a better outcome as a transfer outside SA would have come with a fee.

SA people are so obsessed with exporting all the gold they see any inflow as something to avoid.

Yet basic capitalism: inflow minus outflow relates to wealth. Capitalism is about getting richer, not poorer.

No NH rugby club is interested in the guy even though he must be paid three ckicken wings and two watermelons. It is a big sign.

Face it, SA, over the last 25 years, has not put one half decent non white player. SA will never put out one.

Ending the quota policy: it is already ended as it never started. Another example of SAns believing their own tales.

NH rugbys are churning out quality non white players. SA cant. A lot of them are forwards. Their quality is nowhere to be found in SA quota players.

Yet SA has registered one hapless (in fact two teams) in pro rugby. Filled with very poor players, even by SA standards. NH non white players would get a spot in that team. SA would have gained from training half decent non white players, they could have helped the team.

Even KE does a better job than SA. SA quota players would hardly make the KE team. And KE would beat a selection of SA quota players.

“He wanted to become a football player. Which could have been a better outcome as a transfer outside SA would have come with a fee.” Oh please. What are the chances. No club is looking towards SA for football talent. The last SA player of significance was Stephen Pienaar. Before him the last one was Benni McCarthy and his last EPL involvement was 11 games for West Ham in 2010/11. That was after a long successful career with Blackburn Rovers until they got knocked out of the Premier League.

Zimbabwe managed to slot a prop in the english league. This country is close to SA. That story of SA stock will be investigated with the expected outcome: tale as SA people of this board are in love with tale.

As it appears, SA is the place in the world people can not be trained to be rugby players. Once again, if confirmed, this would mean a severe misallocation of resources and rugby should not have been introduced in SA.

SA rugby are lucky there is no large SA non white people diaspora in NH rugby countries. They might have been trained in decent rugby players.

Oh please. What are the chances.

Higher than the chances a rugby player brings in money. Because SA rugby, that's money out, money out.

No ins.

No club is looking towards SA for football talent

That is the way. SA chose to go for rugby instead of going for football.

Rugby was a political choice: way easier to get results than football. And football is played decently by other african countries.

Now, SA football is lagging behind, resources that should have been given to football went to rugby, which is a sink.

SA would have been communist, SA would have been in a better situation.

Communists despized rugby and promoted football.

Today, there will be a market for SA football players. Money in.

This tells the legacy SA locals are burdened with. Even a communist past would have been better.

@Traditionalist, always blaming the past. Well, at least you have an excuse for your quota postings on rugby boards. It is not your fault you are a quota poster- you could have ruled the world only if (insert BS)....
India and China were also colonies at one stage, yet both are now both top 5 economies in the world- all the while Africa is rife with corruption and fraud. China will soon become the largest economy in the world- and their GDP continues to grow in double digits. They have taken the problem of a weak currency- and turned it into an advantage by becoming the worlds leading manufacturer and exporter.
What is your take on a rapidly growing third world population problem?  China during the communist era encouraged large families, but now days understand that it is easier to be profitable by having smaller families that can be economically supported- and built into a dominant middle class. A major third world problem is that growing the GDP more than the population growth to ensure profitability- and prosperity.

Kenya rugby is more exciting as a prospect than SA rugby. No matter the issue Africa has, it does not explain the difference in situation.

Equality of output, not equality of opportunity.

SA rugby had their opportunity to grow a localized rugby. They failed. Stop that globalist mindset, it has been ruining SA.

Termination of rugby in SA will happen. SA has two options: take it into account and manage the end or deny and be forced into it.

People on this board must not care, they must not hold dear. It will happen.
