Glad Aplon had a good game. He is small but deadly. Will he make it back to test level?

Aplon should have played more tests than what he has. He would make a great fullback, much better than Kirchner. He is also good at wing.
A back three of Habana, Leroux and Aplon would be lethal on attack. Kirchner does not know how to pass.

I see 365 are calling it as great a moment as the ground has seen. Maybe a bit over the top, but it was a career defining try by Aplon. Thing is he has scored many brilliant tries. The only thing he doesn't do is collect high balls over the tall chaps, he is our most brilliant runner, probably our best tackler in space and he hardly ever loses the ball in contact. I'd play him ahead of Kirchner every time.

I prefer to think of him as a sub. We have seen him in a number of tests in the tri nations doing zip. That is why he was dropped remem ber. However give him 30 minutes off the bench and he could do some damage.

"I'd play him ahead of Kirchner every time."....totally agree, the try he scored was simply superb. Yep, I'd have him ahead of the useless woolly boolly.

i thought it the stormers vs lions match was a great game, some good rugby all round from both teams, but WP was the rightful winners.
i thought vermeulen who had a great game was lucky not to get pinged by that mr potato head TMO.
he had his elbow pressed on van der mewes (i think it was him) when the ball was cleared long ago.
aplons always been good, but i didnt know he was 31, thats going to hurt his chances for future Bok test caps.
his size as stated by some has always been the biggest issue of his game, and as great as his attacking prowess is, Boks lack of knowledge with attacking rugby meant they were never in able to effectively and efficiently use aplon.
IMO aplon should go overseas and start raking in some big bucks, cos he deserves it and im sure there will be plenty of clubs interested in the likes of him.
i also really liked kolbe, i thought he had some nice touches in the game too, prob a better hotstepper then aplon, but definitely of the same mold.
habanas absence next year is going to be covered just nicely by kolbe.
but hes going to need habanas smarts, cos hes puny even for a back.
i wish i had watched more stormers games in the CC, cos im a big kolbe fan.
