The general option taking of our players does not much sense.
To often we see players kick when they should run, or run when they should kick.
Or just kick aimlessly when they could kick or run.
Many of them pass before drawing a man which is the basics for any sport to create space on attack. The up and unders seem to be the only option, and given the players do this all the time it is a surprise that many of them cant even do this properly.
Charl Mcloid kicking the ball away to give the Stormers possession in the last minute of so of the game was totally stupid. I think players should be fined for such stupidity.
All the Sharks had to do was holding on to the ball in the forwards. Just pick and carry for the last minute or so and slow things down until the hooter. Each pick and carry leaving the ball at the base of the ruck until the Ref shouts use it or lose it.
The chase down on Taute today was a complete joke- is he actually a professional rugby player? Someone that eats Mcdonalds all day could have charged down that kick.
Before the professional era our backline players were often working in professional jobs like lawyers, docters etc.
Now days they are just creatine gym muscle heads with no brains.
Our forwards do their work, but far too many of backs are useless.
