The bulle may have a few too many niggles and the Chhetahs are at home waiting to pounce. Can the bulle luck hold as they should have lost last week agains the sharks? But never fear ZAane is back!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ex Supersport

The Vodacom Bulls may be able to welcome back fullback Zane Kirchner for this weekend’s vital Vodacom Super Rugby match against the Toyota Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

Kirchner, who underwent surgery on his finger several weeks back, had the screw taken out of his finger a week ago, and is waiting on an all-clear from the surgeon to know when he will play again.

According to the Bulls' medical team, a decision will be taken on Wednesday when he will be back, especially as the next two days are virtually dead-quiet at Loftus with a number of players in Durban for the Springbok camp.

Prop Dean Greyling, who endured a torrid time during the game and limped off with an ankle injury, will have to undergo a fitness test on Wednesday to prove he is ready to compete, otherwise it is likely that Morne Mellett will take his place in the starting line-up.

Other players who have niggles, winger Akona Ndungane, flanker Dewald Potgieter and flyhalf Louis Fouche - who had to withdraw from the team on Friday due to injury – will all resume training on Wednesday when the Springboks return.

It was also reported from the Springbok training squad assembly in Durban that Flip van der Merwe and Juandrè Kruger did not train due to niggles, but will remain with the training squad until tomorrow, when all the players return to their franchises.

The long-term injury list sees regulars Paul Willemse (8 weeks) and Cornell Hess (6 months) on a long-term recovery following knee operations.

Wiaan Liebenberg (AC shoulder, 3 weeks), Travis Ismaiel (shoulder, 3 weeks) and Frans Venter (groin, 2 weeks) will be back sooner.

One has a feeling the bulle are going doooown.  Cheethas will be up for this one big time. Bulle had very hard game against the Sharks.

One thing is for sure it will be one heck of a game. Yes the Bulls didn't play much rugby, but credit to their defence for keeping the barbers out. The win will also do wonders for them and their confidence would've grown even more. The game was a typical SA derby and the barbers threw everything at the conference leaders, but still couldn't manage a win.(and that is with Jonathan (I cheat the bulls everytime) Kaplan.................. joke This one might be too close to call, the cheetahs have not beaten the bulls in super rugby yet, and they will be looking to change that statistic, the bulls will know if they bag this win the sa conference race might be over. I still believe Le Roux should start at 15 for the cheetahs in place of giraffe Daniller with Rhule and Benjamin as the wings.

Bokbe please be reasonable Kaplan gave the bulle a fair deal but your pack got taken to the cleaners. Front row got munched etc. Spies is a vodcam player on a good day etc etc

You sound worse than bulle fan Owen who was complaining about Kaplan before the game claiming Kaplan would prevent a bonus point win for the bulle.

But to bame kaplan for a weak showing by the outgunned bulle pack is not on.

The bulle look to be there for the taking. Their luck cant hold?

Hahahaha it just feels good to win the barbers in the tank nogal. Can't argue Kirsten and Greyling got munched, although there were some dodgy biding by Doc Jannie (which Mallet) also pointed out. But to be fair our forwards go their asses kicked. Overall it was a crap game and we will have to up the game against the cheetahs. I disagree about the luck though, the bulls won all their games returning from tour quite easily, but this week will probably be their toughest. I won't be surprised if the cheetahs take it, but will still be backing the boys in blue though. PS - Remember the Bulls played with 14 men the whole game, as Spies was sitting in the dressing room. hahahahahahaha

Yes where Greyling was concerned some of the calls were 50/50 really.  Spies should be replaced by Arno Botha. Maybe Spies would thrive in a loose role as an impact player - Mallet correctly I think believes a role should be created for Spies whereby h eis used to ignite things further out in the backs. He's is NOT a guy for the grind like a Vermuelen. Play to your strengths etc.

Unfortunately he is the captain and will not be dropped. Meyer also appears enoumoured with him and with Vermuelen out Pierre could well make the Bok side - which is a disaster.

Congrats on your fantasy performances Bokbe!

Well they might well do! My wish is that the Cheetahs get to the top...if ever there was a well deserved effort it goes to Mr Strauss and his team...an outstanding performance by his leadership and his guys.

No question of Springbok leadership here...leads from the front line...an awspiring captain...not even debatable...Bizzie has to respect this...can only come in for fresh legs but Straus is my man for the ultimate captaincy...even though I have huge respect for JDV.

Wonderful effort by the Cheetahs...huge character...a future standard in SA how we need to play the game.

Bean Brain my guess is the Bulls will go down at Waikato Stadium in the final and the Mighty Chiefs will be justly rewarded by winning the Super XV Championship back to back like the legends of rugby they are...

You heard it here first...

Brycy breaking the bad news to the naive and wishful yarpies but someone had to do it....

Well you wont be playing the Mighty Stormers who whipped you guys with a second string side. You also wont be playing the sharks at full strength who would obviously have the measure of the wee chiefies. So yes if the game is played in nz with a kiwi ref its tickets for the bulle.

Played at loftus even this fairly ordinary bulle side could win.

Bean Brain i can't beleve yr still using the words mighty and stormers in the same sentence after you yrself questioning wether they'd even be in the competition next year.

Leave the Mighty to a truly Mighty team - the Mighty Chiefs or just use small case letters for yr team instead.

You could also learn alot from the Rennies Chiefs culture of no excuses but that would'nt leave you much to post about i guess...

brycy ya mutt unless something is beating you on the head you have no clue.

Listen bonehead our second/third string Stormers have just beaten the Reds.

Unfortunately we never this year saw the MIGHTY Stormers at anything remotely near full strength. Undoubtedly the top side in the competition by a fair margin .

Also remember brycy we beat the wee chiefies witha second string side. Man it could have got nasty for your wee lads had we fielded the Beeno power pack - 940 kg. Be thankful Brycy very thankful.

Yes all credit to Strauss a worthy Bok captain. However I do ask are we forgetting how good Bissie is at his destructive best.

Bean Brain your team is'nt even featuring this year so i'd be very quiet about such a soft team that keeps getting injured and back a Real Team like the Mighty Chiefs..

They need to beat the Cheetahs and win their remaining games  to keep a possible surge from the Brumbies down and  maybe challenge the Chiefs who must still play the Saders away.
