We saw an end of the year tour where the Boks completely dominated the home unions, where the All blacks scraped most of their wins.


Today we saw a completely dominant Springbok performance against the World XV, whilst the wee All Blacks forwards struggled against the English B team.


The physical might of the Boks marshalled by Fourie Dupreez in the 2nd half, with the dangerous outside backs of Wille and Habana is dangerous. Then with Goosen entering the fray another attacking dimensions was added.


Most of Meyers selected were vindicated with Matfield in particular a backbone of strength on the pitch. Lets get our Springbok greats on the field, and not piss around with every new kid on the block with a few average SuperXV performances


Bottom line if we can play it our way with strong forward combat exchanges we can take any team.

Definitely not - the Aussies will beat us by 30 points and the All Blacks by 20.  Reason the game today was a shambles with our scrumming the worst I have ever seen of a Springbok team.  We have a poor center combination producing zilch and must thank our lucky stars for a few outstanding players that produced the goods today.
I would say those are basically Le Roux, Habana, Vermeulen, Louw and Bismarck du Plessis. 
The rest were more noticeable for penalties given away and producing very little of note.

Who was it?  Willie deserve that and maybe Habana - definitely not anyone in the tight 5 - they were bad in scrumming to start with.

 Sharkbok see my comments under Dr Moz's most unfortunate post re Mallet.It was very concerning that the Boks were dominated in the first half - the period when the world 15 were really playing. That with two journeyman locks in kruger and hargreaves and Burden at hooker who never made it here. We hardly got out of our half for 30 minutes and our scrum got severely pumped!!!!!!!
Sorry I cannot get excited by this win. In fact there are some very obvious problems. 
Sterner competiton is needed. While the world 15 were playing they dominated. A scratch side of tired guys!!!!
Let's please get some perspective oaks. 
Bakkies looks to still have a test or two in him. What great lock he has been! Oh if only he had had a great lock partner!!!!!

With Botha and Matfield - we have lost our scrumming completely and neither of the two is really good enough in that component of the game.   Unless that is corrected we may just about our chances in most games in the RC.
I grant that Fannie neds to eb replaced - but that would not solve the problem.  We need strong scrummaging locks as well and we do not have them in Botha and Matfield.
