Barring ref problems England would surely have won both tests. The Sharks beat the Crusaders their top team with 13 men!

Paddy O'Brien will not be there to arrange the refs for matches and Bryce Lawrence has long since departed. They dare not pull another stunt like they did in nz.

The wee abs pack will struggle as they lack grunt. If they bulk up the loosies then their running game falls apart. old man mcaaaw is past it and dan will problbly not be at his best. Woodie Woodcock is getting on and Mealamu is over the hill. It all start's up front and that is where the abs troubles start.

Backlines can be shut down if given ball going backwards.

Sides like the Mighty Boks know they are the better team and England and Oz have joined their ranks. Even Ireland will fancy their chances!!

Something dramatic between now and the WC needs to happen for the wee abs to be considered serious contenders.

Can the wee abs reninvent themselves? What cause for hope?

To make matters worse the Junior Boks are making a habit of clobbering the baby blacks. England's juniors also are better in recent years.

Beeno:

Please keep up your efforts to motivate the Boks & their dis-spirted "supporters". It must be discouraging to know that the ABs have won 16 games in a row and only lost one game since the 2011 RWC. BUT the RWC must remain credible so we need other teams to show up.

Don't worry we made sure that the Poms felt like they had a fighting chance in the first two tests & we will probably do the same for the Boks. No need to thank us - we do it in the best interest of the game.

Snapster you are clearly smarting from you very bad overstatement of your case. If you had followed the balanced Beeno approach I would be able to see you for the EGG!
I have concerns - eg wee matfiled. Will Meyer see through the show pony and drop him come RC time. Also I would like to see a dynamic young scrummie getting a chance. Further we need more pace in the loose trio. Is Polard mature beyong his years and able to play senior rugby is a question. He seems to be a hard nut.A back up tighthead is needed whiole Coenie gets put right. Malherbe and Marcell - but they must play!
However if we start with Loodt and Etzebeth our packs comes in at roughly 950 kg. We will simpy blow the wee abs away with that pack.
However I am not throwing my toys out the cott right now and hope to see Meyer sifting out the weak links.  We shall see.

I think everyone knows the RC is the test. Weak links will be exposed. The uncertainty is how long Meyer will take to react. This si the big question.Meyer builds incrementally - gets it right over time.
I do find it annoying though that Olivier gets in before Jordaan and the issues I noted are not considered. Meyer though in his mind says -win every test is top priority. Fine but danger is being ultra cautious.
As for the chest beating kbbs well they were taken down a pe g or two by the English for sure.

Meyer is going backwards you clown.......you build a side with a core of experienced players and you introduce youngsters to supplement that core.........Meyer's model goes the other way......that's how stupid he is.

It started with a good blend of youth and experience, now all we see is experience and a bunch of washed up hasbeens flying the flag

snaster your A is of no interest to anyone here but you.
The story is not finished yet. Meyer has introduced Hendricks, played JP at 13, and given Jan a starting test. Its not entirely static. Into the squad has come Jordaan, Marcell and the great Burger is back. Callie got a call. Loodt made his debut.Get real snapster your fragile emotions are letting you down! Its not all doom and gloom.
Morne has been lauded for a good test. Du Preez is still one heck of a scrummie.

Hendricks is average at best, JP is not a 13, the only reason Jan is starting is because Jean is injured and Frans is sulking. Jordaan was an afterthought and hardly a world beater, he wont smell the match 23 anytime this year.

Marcel has sadly now taken a back seat thanks to Meyer's policy of playing old farts. Callie got a call behind Brits thanks to Strauss and Chiliboy being in trouble......Beenkop, try keep up man.

Morne is and always will be shit. du Preez offers nothing with ball in hand, we have far better attacking 9's

Well what do you know? The core of Meyer's "current" squad are experienced players. Bear in mind that a  hell of a  lot of youngsters that he has  already introduced are out injured at the moment. Etzebeth, Botha, PSDT, Boshoff, etc.

To add to his total core group of Bok players he has introduced the likes of Willie le Roux, Jan Serfontein, Marcell Coetzee, JJ Engelbrecht, Partrick Cilliers, Johan Goosen, Frans Malherbe, Jaco Taute, Arno Botha, Trevor Nyakane, Siya Kolisi, Piet v Zyl, PSDT, Lood de Jager and Cornal Hendricks and Damien de Allende. That is 16 players right there.

The players in bold are either injured or already in  the team. Who would  you have swapped out?

Geez you are a thick prick......the core of Meyers current side is not experienced, its the vast majority of his side......wake up.

Let me start by saying that JP should not be playing 13, Morne, du Preez, Pienaar, Jannie, Bakkies, Matfield, Alberts, Steenkamp, Brits, Flip, Schalk, Olivier and Mvovo should not be in the current side or side that played last week.

Players that are better than the hasbeens above are numerous........JJ Engelbrecht, Sithole, Sadie, Mapoe, Goosen, Boshoff, Hougaard, de Klerk, Reinach, v/Zyl, Kitshoff, Nkanyane, Mellett, v/d Merwe, Malherbe, Cooper, Visagie, Willemse, J.du Plessis, Lewies, Coetzee, Kolisi, Carr, Labascagne, v/d Walt, Brussouw and CJ Stander.....you get the picture?

NZ will always be the team to beat. That is until someone else is the perennial #1 and wins 16 games or whatever it is on the trot.
The demise of their forward pack is overstated and I really don't see it. No way do you pull off what they have with a deficient pack.

All Blacks will win the overrated 2015 RWC.

u only need to watch the current england test series to see an underperforming 2nd stirng All Blacks team who are playing ordinary rugby for large parts of their 160 minutes to date in 2014 against a full strength england team playing their hearts out and have had some very fortunate and favourable calls go thier way and yet still find themselves 2 nil down ina three test series???

WTF are england going to do when the All Blacks wake up???
turn their white shorts brown is all i can think of.

i dont see any team in the world where man for man from players to coaches where we dont on paper have a better team.

No1 threats to the All Blacks in the 2015 RWC,,,
1 wallabies
2 england, Boks, france - but as long we can feild 80% of our best team we will beat them all

RWC is overrated, give me the Boks in soccer city or ellis park  or wallys in suncorp or ANZ, any day of the week easy over the RWC.

A full strength England team ? And you try and tell us that you know your Rugby. Even Beeno knows better.
But at least the rest of the world don't have to invest in counselling for their country when a sports team fails to win a trophy. That really did prove a thing or two about how tragic things really can become when you take yourselves too seriously

I think brother saSUE is clutching at straws. It's what drowning oaks do!
Oimatey fails to take into account ref assisted wins like the two against England. England are a young side taking shape under a good coach. They will be even better at home, a year more mature and hopefully at full strength. Only the Boks can see them off and only if we get the pack right. Must have the usual edge up front.Main contenders for RWC are Boks and England.

The All Black fetchers (light 5 forwards) are small and will not win back to back matches against a strong pack in a world cup.
The All Blacks game plan in 2013 was to hang on until the last 15 minutes of a match and rely on the backs to score tries.
Their fetchers was bullied at the end of the year tour and it was just come from behind stuff in dying minutes, after the bench had been emptied and their were more gaps at the end with tiring players.
Had the Boks played the All Blacks as a test in the Northen Hemishphere at the EOYT , we would have put 20 points on them

I think the All Blacks have more of a chance to be competitive in the WC than we have with our present team.  Three of our tight 5 combination is too "pap" to make any impression, we have an unbalanced loosie combination and our backline will be inadequate with  other than Willie and Habana as an attacking unit - with some real defense problems at flyhalf.
There will have to be some real changes to our line-up to make us competitive and there are no indications that Meyer is prepared to make the required changes.  Our team has been weakened considerably since Ellis Park and I do not think that we will beat the AB's in NH conditions.

Great insight Sharkbok, I will look up ESPN to see if the have the stats on "We Would Have" (WWHA). Sounds logical so it could be there, lol
The ABs are like any team and can get wo rn down so that part is true. It gets down to managing your players so you have to have depth. ABs have added some big guys in backup slots so the beef is there - just not always in the starting pack.

Vlagtwat, here goes with pleasure you ignorant prick

JP not at 13 but on the wing where he belongs - JJ is the obvious choice at 13, its so obvious its laughable.

What the hell is Olivier doing in the match 23, its bad enough that he is in the squad. Most our 12's are unavailable but in Heimar Williams we have a better option than old man Olivier. Hell even untested Howard Mnisi would be a better option. But back to the point, what the hell is Olivier doing in the match 23? Baby Bok, Andre Esterhuizen would be my choice after the JWC as back-up to Jan, this kid is pure class.

Morne Steyn, the worst pivot since hell knows when.......anyone would be better than this joke. Goosen is the obvious choice, but if under an injury cloud, I’d go with Boshoff, but against Scotland it would be Pollard after his return from the JWC.

du Preez at 9, I’m still waiting to see what exactly this guy is offering that is making a difference……obviously has the best boot at 9 if you want to play that kind of game, but we see nothing with ball in hand, he asks no questions. Hougaard is far far better and started finding his feet nicely for the Bulls this year. Pienaar as the back-up is a bloody insult, his performance against the World 15 was shocking. de Klerk has been outstanding for the Lions as has Reinach for the Sharks, either one of this should be ahead of past it Pienaar.

Now for the easiest selection of all. Steenkamp as the back-up loosehead is insulting, the most pathetic call I have seen in years. Every loosehead starting in the S15 is a better option along with a few back-ups. The obvious choice is Kitshoff, but Nkanyane, Mellett and Marcel v/d Merwe would all be far, far better options as Beasts back-up.

Jannie is still ok at tighthead, but it’s time for Coenie to take over with the likes of Malherbe and Marcel v/d Merwe pushing

Bakkies and Matfield are a bloody laugh. Lood, Willemse, Jacques du Plessis and Lewies are all better options. Lood proved that against Wales.

Louw has been good, but Brussouw is better. Alberts offers very little these days and impressive Jacques du Plessis would have been a far better option. As for Schalk ahead of Coetzee as a back-up, that is just regression of the highest order. Kolisi, Carr, Labascagne, v/d Walt are the players that should be our back-ups, not yet another old man.

You get the picture yet Dutchman – my guess is not?

I am going to shock you - but De Allende is at present our best center as back up for De Vlliers, but I think he should actually play at 13 - in view of our over-supply of inside centers.   he will definitely be a better 13 than either JJ, Fiourie or Pietersen is.
The thing iis that D Allende has ball sense, create space for other players to score tries, has the best off-load and passing abilities of all our centers and because of that creates tries and score them himself.
In essense I agree with your comments on the backline - I also find Du Preez and Pienaar only as links with the backline and kicking of balls.  They are not showing any initiative in creative play and their defense is aso questuionable.
Brussow is a small guy with a tendency to give away penalties.   I still think that Louw and Coetzee our best opensiders.  As to Alberts - he is more and more of a joke.   He has a speed impediment and is consequently a very questionable loosie.  One has to look at players with the ability to protect and recover balls at breakdowns  and can also pass balls - linking up with the backline.  Burger can - but I am not sure his body would last - too many injuries.   So we are down to a few players like Arno Botha and Labuschagne here - I think Jacques du Plessis is playing more like a lock and although vastly better than Alberts - he is a more tight 5 player than a loosie.
I do not think we must put too much money on Jannie du Plessis - he is shwing serious signs of deficiency and I agree with you - Steenkamp is a bloody joke.
If all platers are fit and perform at their present level - I would say our best team at present will be the following:-
15  Le Roux - back up Lambie14  Pietersen - back up Mvovo13  De Allende - back up Jordaan12  De Villiers - back up Serfontein11  Habana - back up Engelbrecht10  Pollard - back up Goosen9   Reinach - back up De Klerk8   Vermeulen - back up Van der Walt7  A Botha - back up Labuschagne6  Louw - back up Coetzee5  Du Toit - back up Van der Merwe4  Etzebeth - back up De Jager3  Malherbe - back up Van der Merwe2  Du Plessis - back up Strauss1  Mtawarire - back up Oosthuizen
After the WC I see players like De Villiers and Habana leaving the scene.   That would create a vacuum and the center issue is clear - Serfontein and Esterhuizen.   On the wing we have Petersen - but I also favour Engelbrecht and possibly Jordaan as potential wings.   If I have to pick a squad of 30 then - I think that -
*  full back Le Roux *  the wings Pietersenn, Mvovo and Petersen;*  the Centers Serfontein. Esterhuixen, Jesse Kriel and De Allende;*  the flyahalfs Pollard, Lambie and Goosen -  to cover full back as well;*  scrummies De Klerk, Reinach and Groom*  Loosies Vermeulen, Botha, Laubsuchagne, Coetzee, Oupa;*  Locks Etzebeth, De Jager, Du Toit, Willemse*  Props Nyakane, Oosthuixen, Malherbe, Van der Merwe, Kitshof, * Hookers Strauss and Marx
If there are any injuries than players like Jordaan, Engelbrecht, Kirsten and Greyling could get a look-in.

Saffex,

OK, so you want to chuck out Hendricks?

You want to try and revive the JJ myth?

Heimar has played how many games again?

Having said that, I agree on Wynand. I am  surprised when he was called up and I always liked him. I have said on  many occasions that just becuase I support HM, I do not always have to agree with what he does. This is one of them. Fact is that he was left in s spot of bother with the shenanigans of your hero Frans Steyn. Yes, I have also been a fan of his but his latest stunt has pissed me off.

Morne Steyn. Your own daft opinion.

Du Preez. Another daft opinion. There is no medicine for ignorance. Or maybe you have just missed a few  games.

Steenkamp. Ditto Steyn and Du Preez. He is getting into the swing of things in the squad again.

Before Coenie can take over from Jannie, his position has to be sorted  out. As long as he is a tighthead/loosehead, he will remain a sub.

Matfield and Bakkies. What other choice do we have? The two main future lock combo are still stuffed. One has to  wonder if PSDT is another Goosen. Etzebeth is still out. Jaques du Plessis is not even playing at lock. Lood is already there and the signs are there that HM is managing him exactly how he should. Play him from the bench before getting into the starting team. If and when PSDT and Etzebeth returns, what are the chances that he would not be confined to the bench in any case? Lewies? Maybe, maybe not. He is just another good new one.

Schalk/Coetzee? I have never been a Schalk fan, but I have said on many occasions that he has really impressed me since his latest return. He looks as hunger to make a difference as ever. Coetzee, IMO, has had his moments but has never set the world  alight for the Boks.

Brussow will do nothing that Louw hasn't done. Once again, Iam starting to have my doubts whether you have actually watched the game. You have your opinions about Kolisi, et al and it is your right.

Bottom-line is that the most of your "changes" are due to  your own tunnel vision biased outlook. You seem to be pre-occupied with your schoolboys and youngsters. There is more to selecting and  managing a Bok set-up than trying to coach a schools  U/14 team, or  whatever team it is that you are allegedly trying to coach. the one difference is that you age group moves on at the end of one season and you have the  next batch coming in. You do not have to decide on how to mix up youngsters/newcomers and players with five or six  years of international rugby behind them. That is where your "throw them out and move on" mentality comes from. When the players on the team that you allegedly coach move out of their age group, you also have to move  on and select new ones in their places. Apparently you see the Bok team as an U/26 age group team. When they hit 25, they have to piss off and go play legends rugby.

Yeah, I don't rate Hendricks as a test player at all. Solid player but nothing special.

There is no myth in JJ, he has done no more or less than JP has done in two tests with ball in hand and that is because JP got no ball in the tests, much like JJ is not getting quality ball to work with at the Bulls. JJ's defensive stats are the best of ALL centres in the S15, so yes JJ walks it for me based on the knowledge he has proved himself already - look no further than his display with ball in hand in the last test against NZ. The fact that our idiot of a coach has discarded him, speaks volumes for the fool.

I don't care how many games Heimar has played, he is a better option than old man Olivier to cover 12 behind Jan. That's my point - Olivier is a pathetic regressive selection - end of.

Morne Steyn - my own daft opinion - try again, I don't know a single foreign supporter who rates Morne, including the Kiwi posters on here. Only stupid conservative SAn's support such an average rugby player with a good boot. You have to be a complete idiot not to work out why SA rugby has never seriously challenged the AB's while Morne has been at 10......hell do you honestly think you can beat the AB's with a plodder at 10, the most important position on the field?

Don't just open your ignorant mouth re du Preez, provide evidence of what he brings to the party other than a good boot?

Steenkamp - bwhaaahaaaa - fuck you are as stupid as our coach - enough said.

Um Coenie has played 3 all year - wake up

Bakkies and Matfield - what other choices do we have - hellooooooooo - how about a combination of any of Lood, Willemse, du Plessis or Lewies? Who cares that du Plessis has not being playing at lock, its where he has played most of his rugby. Bakkies is a passenger and Matfield a liability in the engine room. Geez can we not see this?

Coetzee has had his best season to date, you reward that.......he played out of position at 6 for the Boks when he first hit the scene, he has learnt the art of 6 under Jake and should be playing ahead of Schalk - end of. Brussouw has been awesome for the Cheetahs, he is better than Louw

As for your conclusion, that is just pathetic, childish and lacks substance - try again Dutchman.......my view has fuck all to do with bias and everything to do with the present position regarding our players. We have young talent to burn and our pathetic conservative coach has chosen to ignore that and instead invest in a side brimming with washed up hasbeens.......do you and the coach honestly think that this geriatric Bok side is going to challenge Oz and NZ in a few months and really compete at the WC.......if you do, you are even more stupid than I know you are.

There is conservatism and then you get Meyer - its insulting to the majority of those supporters who know the game - those who think Meyer is on the right track, clearly know fuck all about the game.....stick your name at the top of that list

Talk about being stupid. I only need to give you one example instead of once again replying to your entire heap of shit. Your fixation with Jaques du Plessis at lock.....

I have told you that I agree about Olivier, so just bury it. As for the rest. A lot of tunnel vision biased bullshit and not worth wasting any more time on.

Go  back to your under 14 schoolboys.

JW and Cloudy I see I have been touching on a RAW nerve! I am though hoping for Cloudy's sake that the wee abs remain competitive . But without RAWs ones hopes dont rise too high!Yes Seb I do recall snapster's invitation. However for him to put his house in order it is essential he puts his mind in order first. Clearly there is not enough time before the wolrd cup to do that as his recent rambling show. Will he live long enough is another question!
How is this for a Bok backline for the future:
Reinach/Faf, PollardEesterhuizen, JanJP, Allende, Willie
