Boks have lost a bit of momentum. Playing more of the game in the middle of the field.

Bongi is having a decent game, maybe getting back into form.
AM has been good.
Thomas Du Tank has been good at tighthead. Trevor is better as a loose head than a tighthead.

The Bomb squad has a C-team flavour, so Boks might start running on an empty taak if they dont score more.

Dicipline is costing the Boks, they are losing patience at key moments.
Mostert sees yellow,

First time I've watched the Boks play this year. Is this a test match or a Vodacom cup contest for the wooden spoon?

2 relatively easy penalties missed by Libock. Argentina's territorial kicking game is much better.

About the only good thing is Willemse looking more and more like Jason Robinson from the back.

As predicted, Argentina would be tough but Boks better than before. They'll win, and all will be forgotten and the result will be painted as a wonderful demonstration of the best team in the world.

Lol our kicker is having a great day. Scoreboard is a tad friendly to the Argies atm. -12 thanks to Maanie and got held up twice.

Better second half. Moodie is a very impressive young player, good rugby brain.

Boks will win but hardly convincing at this stage. Backs running across field which would be meat and drink to stronger opposition.

Nothing changes after this result, but the narrative. A mediocre Bok team doing what they do best, getting the odd result to peddle the myth along, as the pseudo fan will take any excuse to believe a lie. Study the film, and the sham falls apart.

Boks won against all odds. Wiese was kak, !ostert was kak and so was Am. Dweeb great in open play, Orie was kak as per usual

Jean Luke did more in 30 min than Mostert did I in 100 min

Moodie, Esterhu izen and Willemse the pick of the Boks. Jantjies and JL du Preez good off the bench. Evan Roose a bit unlucky not to get his first Bok try. All in all a much better performance fom last week's listless performance.

The B team keeps n performing better than then World Cup winners. Surely it is time to drop Am, de Allende for Esterhuizen and Kriel

Moodie was good, still keen to see him get some game time at 13. He is strong in the tackle, staying on his feet and giving him options to offload.

Argentina lost the game through their usual mountain of mistakes. Moodie and Kolbe would be my first picks on the wing. Esterhuizen today showed he can play crash ball more effectively than Dud but he can also offload. I don’t think we learned much else out there today.

It is certainly a difficult choice between Adrense and Moodie. Both can also cover fullback.
Kolbe is the established player, so he is pretty safe for a starting position.

Arendse is a terrific player, but he had a poor match against the Bargies, in defence and under the high ball. He will be a target in every WC game…can we afford that?

Moodie lacks raw pace but he brings calm, smarts and physicality. Always a game of tradeoffs.

The Boks have built a backline that looks more and more suited to track running. It's not very intelligent, it's inflexible, cannot create, assert physical dominance, has limited skill, field awareness, mental toughness, defensive ability, aerial ability, or assertive energy instead of passive energy. I maintain that the 2003 Boks would beat this rabble.

Shark bok, Moodie needs to establish himself there for the bulls before being an option, but his versatility is a massive option.

He is faster than he looks, just one of those players with an effortless running action.

The guy did all, his spot tackles were amazing. Ball and all to stop any momentum from the armies backline.

Then in the 2nd half Kriel puts a good hit in dislodge the ball. Libbok sweeps up and fires the ball wide to Moodie. Moodie puts on the boot where the ball goes deep and chases the ball and catches the Argos player in his 22 and eventually cause them to cough the ball up.

So to me Moodie has to go. He is only 20, can cover a bunch of positions

To be clear, I do t think Moodie looks like a smoothie. He's impressed me on every outing. Going forward he's gonna be a regular. No, he doesn't lack pace at all. He has excellent acceleration, and is faster than Cheslin and Mapimpi at top speed too. Right now, I'd pick... AE with Willemse at 13 and then Moodie & Cheslin & Willie. Faf and Reinach...Pollard/Jantjies(until Libbok sorts his kicking out)

Congrats to the Boks, it would have been better if the ABs & Boks had warm up games against some Northern teams IMO.

It appears that outside of Am and Kriel we want runners at 13. This doesn't bode well for thr Boks. We need defensive solidity, and we are not finding it in the midfield right now. It's not just a matter of physicality, but also ability to read play. The likes of Moodie, Willemse, Damian et al don't have this. They also don't have organizational skills on the field. The last we had of that was Serfontein in 2014, but Fourie was the master. It's all a bit of a mess. If we have the useless Libbok at 10, with Willemse/Moodie at 13, we will have no impact on the gainline, and will play far too laterally, and too deep. It won't matter who is at 12, as 10 sets the depth anyway. This test has changed nothing. The Boks are not in good shape. I'll do a phase by phase review of the second 40 later.

Thank goodness I missed ou Deus's phase by phase analysis. His doom and gloom comments were quite enough!

Becs sorry about England but the whole country really is going down the drain. Very sad to see.

I am looking foward to seeing the Boks/Argies match to see how things actually went.

As for Moodie certainly doesn't lack pace. Looking forward to see how he went.

Good to see JW making cameo appearances.
