As mentioned the wrong players started
Mpimpi was never a good winger, fantastic finishers, his catching got better but now it is none existent. Can't tackle for shit.
Most of these guys are past 30, they play in Japan and haven't had a proper match in nearly 3 months, then you rock in New Zealand thinking you will walk the game because you went their early and had a few rounds of golf.
So tired of the quota rotation policy. Just put the bloody best team on the field, bring players on at the right and build squad depth that way. Stop pissing around with the stupid bomb squad. Players should be able to play for 90 min, if not, they are not fit enough. Eben should have had 3 games under his belt before this match. There should have been a warm up test match to test these combos
Plum
Esterhuizen fouled up badly in the Aussie wing running straight through him when he scored he first Aussie try. The Springboks backline defense organization was pathetic against the Assies and the same can be said of Am today.
Dave
I was horrified when I saw Mostert starting he was pathetic throughout the game and the match yesterday was lost in the first 20 minutes of the test. You are right about the starting team needing a change as suggested by you.
I would make 1 other change to the team - I would play Willemse ahead of AM at 13 - to my mind he is physically stronger and fast enough on both attack and defense to be effective. Willemse played at inside center for the Stormers and when attacking he would be effective at 12 - in defense he could line up at 12 and De Allende could move to 13.

Umm...what was the try count yesterday versus last week?
Against the ABs the Boks were being sliced to shreds .
I don't think you can blame Am for that one, the AB,s were very effective on the pick-up and drive, super fast ruck clearance, and then chipped over the top a few times. It only went wide int he final phase of play.
Their tactical kicking was top drawer. The boks couldn't get their hands on the ball in the first 15 min.
You concede a penalty, loose a line or even give away scrum penalty it is lights out. Not to mention those knock ons, that was critical. The catching was poor as well.
I liked the way the ABs carried their kicks, best kicking display I've ever witnessed. Not what SA does with the stupid bombs but they were all contestable or pinned the boks back.
Our defence around 9, 10 and 12 was shocking.
Im a converter of Richie now, they way the controlled the game and use his boot to get behind the boks defence.
No, this team was fast asleep and still dreaming of pitching up at the World Cup.
I like the idea of sending a team ahead, don't get me wrong, but these guys were simply not at the races
