 most people in thye know knew lambie was nothing. he hasnt done anything in five years. no teams play better with him ever. so why give him praise. he sounds like a pretty nice fella in person, its nothing personal just not that good a rugby player. what is really bad is that people only loved lambie because they hated morne and wanted to look for every reason to hate him and ignore everything he did that was good. they wanted lambie to be the alternative and kept turning a blind eye to his poor play.

 True Gonzo, I think Steyn should have occupied the Fly-half position for that particular match till Lambie was up to speed with the rest of the team, paring Jordan and Sithole as our Center combo.  Well, we were well beaten lads, that's all folks.

Now that's pretty naive, ignore the poor performance of Steyn just because Lambie didn't kick at goals particularly well. 

 steyn is the better player, both steyns have always been better. they have bad moments like every player, but they do so much more that is good. that's the difference.

 @ Shezza; there is no naivety at all, Steyn kicked well last weekend, I agree he went missing in probably the entire match today, and so does a lot of guys out there. Just because I didn't particularly single him out doesn't mean I'm naive.  The whole team messed up out there.

 He's not a match winner that's for certain, but both Steyn's aren't either and are closer to match losers. Mind there's a lesson to be learnt, don't start a player in only his second match returning from injury.

Problem was missing tight forwards Beast, Du Toit and Bresler. That and travel bug. Sharks were clearly not themselves. So many unforced foul ups and lack of energy. Folk are overestimating the crusties. Sharks made them look good.
We even had the mcaaaw groupies in full flight - even though he did very little of course.

 Beens, the Landers sucked all the energy out of the Sharks a week ago. That and the distraction provided by the those lovely Sader girls wearing short skirts and waving those wooden swords and winking at the Sharks players.

 Beeno really anyone with eyes could see Richie was best on park. You really need to take your blinkers off and realize Richies greatness . I think youve got it all wrong, apart from missing a few key players, this Sharks performance was inevitable. Tbh i never rated them at all even when they were winning, if they played again next Saturday it would be the same result. Sharks had a favourable home draw, and thus were teetering on the edge, and Saders finished them off. Saders were so good, they made Sharks look bad anyone cld see that. You clearly have an issue giving credit where credits due to NZ teams, which is odd seeing we always win . Lambie wasent too bad he made a few gd breaks, missed a few kicks tho. Whole  team was under immense pressure the entire game, F Steyn went quiet the whole game. I wouldent underestimate the Saders, Tahs well be favs being at home, but when Tahs meet Saders in Finals History says Saders always win, only time well tell if this is different. 

Listen a depleted Storemers side outplayed the crusaders at home and the sharks beat them with 13 men at home. How good can these hapless crusties really be one has to ask.
Sharks by playing so badly made them look okay.Wee mcaaaw was a damp squib. Lets hope Hansen thinks otherwise. The show pony read was thumped by JP and left tehfield.Dan - well i did laugh when he got rid of the ball extra quick when Bissie loomed up. Hhahahahahaha.
No Sharks were apalling so no credit the the wee crusties.

Ntanga I appreciate your comment. I spent quite a bit of time doing a mozcroscope of Lambie vs Wales, and got huge stick for that. But today was uncannily similar.
The thing that bothered me was all the hype about Lambie after the Landers game...where he made one poor line kick, one poor up and under and a few ordinary passes. It was a massive brain washing exercise, and so many braiRjns got washed.
I have always liked Lambie...a gutsy kid who tries hard and conducts himself well. But last year in the S15 he had a long run at 10 and achieved very little...his running stats were way worse than Morne. And by season end Pat was shifted to 12.
The fact is he is a kicker at flyhalf. He has no running skills himself, nor does he see the field like a Willie. Small, slow and lacking in vision how the blazes is he going to spark the running game. It was all a big illusion.
He can be a solid defensive fullback....and oddly he runs better from 15, because he can cut onto the ball. Leave him there as a defensive option to Willie.
