It was known that SA had no chance of getting the 2027 WC. But this piece of news postpones the prospect of getting a WC even more.
As a follow up to France bid, and what it means for the SH, AR and AU are now contenders to host 2027 WC. AR will be a big favourite.
As a consequence, since 2027 WC is likely to go to SH, it decreases the chances 2031 WC goes to the SH.
Which means that SA can not hope to host a WC before 2035. That is 18 years from now.
In the meantime, SA are stuck with multi billion (USD) infrastructures that bring nothing but a pile of debts: they are worked at severe undercapacity and will be outdated by 2035, requiring new spending to upgrade them.
