Andreas Seppi, a 30 year old journeyman seeded 24, has just removed the snarler down under. Seems it was only days ago Hewitt  was being cited as a poster boy for a 2014 Aussie sporting renaissance.

It was all down-hill for him since he threw that infamous racist tantrum against the black umpire when he was playing African American James Blake at the US Open in 2001. Good riddence.
is this the new sign for looser?

Yes Matey, but since our fabulous team of the mid eighties, it hasn't brought much joy. That said Hester's kickoff return in the Super Bowl is the most exciting run I have seen in rugby, football or any of the derivatives....it's worth looking up on You Tube.

Awesome - I love the NFL. I was watching that game live but have to admit I was pulling for the Colts (Manning mostly - to get his first ring). Pretty incredible thing for Hester to be able to score when everyone knew exactly what a threat he was.
My beloved Panthers got beat last Sunday - very disappointed in their lack of composure and immaturity on the defensive side of the ball. Too many costly penalties. We will be back though now that we have our own Urlacher in the form of Luke Kuechly. I reckon he would make one heckuva loose forward in rugby.
If your Bears can get a defense again there won't be much stopping them between Forte, Jeffery (who I reckon is better than Marshall), Marshall and Bennett. A little surprised they gave so much money to Cutler when McCown was a stud as a fill-in starter?

Odd to think the Bears need a defence to be competitive, when that's all we have had so many years. I'm also dubious about Cutler.....frankly  I thought he was pretty unconvincing against Green Bay.

Hi Moz & oimatey: I was a great supporter of the Redskins in the 70s & 80s - those were the glory years, lol
We had some great games against the Bears & the Colts & everyone else for that matter. The days of kilmer and Jergerson and a great offensive line . Back then I couldn't get access to rugby games so the NFL was the closest I could get to it.
Thank God for the Internet!!

Pretty much my story too JW. I'm not sure if it's getting the rugby, but I'm just less inclined to watch a regular season NFL game. And somehow the characters aren't as compelling. Remember the Steel Curtain with Mean Joe Green, Stabler, Bilitnikoff, Tarkenton, Page and all those wonderful Bears characters like Paton. Man would that guy have made an awesome inside center!

JW / Moz - that was a little before my day so only seen highlights and read stories of those guys. Growing up in SA in the 80's didn't see much gridiron at all except for the occasional video-taped game my grandma would send us. Since she lived in Carol Stream it was always Da Bears    - as a result I'm a Walter Payton / Refrigerator Perry / Mike Ditka fan.
I distinctly remember as a kid getting a Bears wooly hat for Christmas from my grandma with an orange and blue pom-pom on top.  Thought it was the coolest thing, wore it everywhere.
NFL helps fill the rugby off-season.

Walter was the ultimate competitor in a losing team.....perhaps you need another one of those Bears hats Matey.
