I have to say, Australia is definitely on the up. They had to endure a couple of seasons of real pain. First they drop their Kiwi coach for Eddie Jones right before the World Cup. What followed was a disaster and then all of a sudden, Eddie makes a runner,

They have been struggling for years to compete against he kiwis in the new Super rugby or kissing cousins festival rugby.

However, this weekend, we saw some of the Australian youngster come to the fore. What we did see is one of their brightest forward punch a whole straight through boks, not with brute force but with skill. The two players.

Angus Bell and Harry Wilson.

If you look at their stats, these guys are much bigger, younger, faster and the right age to peak at the World Cup with experience. This team now has a BIL win, came close in the 2nd test and could have won it and then beat the might springbok bilting at Ellis Park. A place they haven't won since 1967.

All thanks to our inspirational leader that is just there for show and then has to go off at 40 min. On comes another wee back back rower in Kwagga. Who were they facing.

  1. Angus Bell - 1.93m 130kg age 24.
  2. Billy Pollard - 1.85m 103kg age 23
  3. Tupou - 1.81m 148kg age 29
  4. Nick Frost - 2.06 120kg age 25
  5. Will Skelton - 2.03 145kg age 33
  6. Tom Hooper - 1.99 122kg age 24
  7. Fraser Mcreight 1.86 108kg age 26
  8. Harry Wilson - 1.96m 115 kg age 25.

There are only two players that are over 27 in that pack. They are impressive specimens and they have the skill and pace not to just bask it up but actually break the line. Where as our guys are just used as battering rams.

Then our players, Marx, Etzebeth, Kolisi, PTSD etc are all over 30 and can barely last a full game. There is almost a 6 year age gap between our pack and theirs, but the difference is they can play the whole game

Give this group another couple of years and I think SA rugby will be back trying to avoid the wooden spoon.

Rassie really fucked us over by insisting with his musical chairs.

Now he is onto his 4th 8 man in the shape of JLD who is now 30 and haven't started a test since 2017. What a crime that Rassie thinks he can carry on like this,

Our best 8 is sitting at home. The guy who should start, Vincent Tsuka is carrying bags while Moster is covering 7. No match to the Australian 6 or endurance or physicality.

and so we go down, down, down

Average age of this pack is 26

Average weight is 124 kg, total pack weight 991 kg

Average height is 1.93 cm

I don't the likes of Kwagga, Bongi, Van Staden, Kolisi or even Eben adds any value these days. More likely to appear on the crock list.

Now we are stuck with 30 something players as the next guys which means the youngest forward will be 33 and the oldest gonna be 37 to 38

Nah, we simply have too many good young forwards coming through. Hanekom, Tsitsuka, Roos, Elrigh Louw...to name but a few.

And Plum you absolutely sure that they will get built up by Erasmus?? Thsituka,Roos,to mention two who could play and be picked right bloody now ?!! But nothing!!

Look at all the Lock talent we have, Reinhardt Ludwig, Ruan vermaak, Ruben V Heerden , Corne Rahl etc.etc…..

And not even fucking one of them gets picked by Dr. Doos?? Instead Salmon Breath and older locks get picked?? Pls explain that to us…..

Agreed. He's confused selections policies so much that wonders if there is a way back for him now.

Tis what happens when you cook with too many ingredients.

Rare in that we didn't think that Australia could actually put a dominant forward pack together, but then you look at that starting 8. Looks better than our lot right now the Rassie picked.

This guys are in fine form. RG and Nortje is starting, but how many games have they played together.

We only got Ox, Marx as the survivors, but Thomas Du Toit is back at tighthead. No Wilco Louw. Is he being rested.

We have Mostert at 7, JLD finally starting at 8 after having to wait 7 years. Almost being like 7 years a slave to Rassies dogmatic team structure and system

Age is beginning to play a role, not just in endurance, but also in injury susceptibility. But the main difference last week was playing style and skill on the day.

TheAussie loosies were playing to the ball, supporting the breakdown and jackalling and they were tackling. The three starting Aussie loosies made 45 tackles and missed 4……our loosies made 18 tackles and missed 3…which gives a sense of involvement. McReight made 3 more tackles than our loosies combined..
