Australias NRC

Last night was the first game of Australias National Rugby Championships. Despite the wet conditions there was a 45-20 win to Brisbane City with a missed tackle count that was close to the score line. It did produce some open running rugby though it seemed more like touch football at times. Rule changes saw penalties and drop goals worth 2 and conversions 3. Brisbane scored 45 points and still did not earn a bonus point! Defence needs to improve if it to be taken seriously. Some good performances and players to watch out for.

Yep I watched the first half and got distracted - hmmmm jury still out for me but I did like the look of a few of the Sydney backs - at least they get some airtime outside of club rugby and who knows what it may uncover...

I think it wil assist with attacking component of all the aussie S15 teams ulktimately...

But as Wilson (kiwi winger) mentioned - does Australia need to increase this aspect of the game more or should we be looking to increase attention on set piece...?  

I think its tough as rugby in Asutralia needs to be interesting and fast and watching fatprops take 10 mins to reset and repack scrums just isn't going to win fans...

Im torn in NRC who to go for... I think maybe QLD or NSW country...  

It would have been but I got a few connections close to NSW country team so feeling a bit drawn that way

IS there another one on tonight I quickly checked fox and could only see ITM games...
