Was just having a look at what kind of side we should have this year.......it should be pretty impressive.

Fullbacks: Jessie Kriel and EW Viljoen

Wings: Sergeal Petersen and Duhan v/d Merwe

Centres: Andre Esterhuizen, Rohan Janse v/Rensburg, Daniel Kriel, Daniel du Plessis

Flyhalf: Pollard

Prop: Thomas du Toit

Hooker: Malcolm Marx

Locks: JD Schickerling, RG Snyman and Gideon Koegelenberg

Loosies: Jean-Luc du Preez and Daniel du Preez

Two sets of twins in there.....Robert du Preez's sons and the Kriel twins

Any other names to add?

Saffex

I think one has to look at the Super 15 squads of the various franchises to find others.

WP15 at one stage provided a list of school players going to the various academies and one also have to look at the various Under 19 teams of the top franchises - The Bulls - the Sharks and WP - to get an idea of the talent available.   They last year had a training group in January aimed at the 2014 WC - but I could not find anything about it this year.

Last years Craven week showed better quality performances than in 2012 - which did not produce a good enough squad to win the WV in 2013 - and the signs are they h ave some really top players coming through for this year.

Yeah the only players that have been in the S15 warm up game squads are:
Esterhuizen, Jessie Kriel, EW Viljoen, Thomas du Toit, Malcolm Marx and Pollard
The side will have real clout in the backs with Pollard (97kg) at 10, Esterhuizen (104kg) and Janse v/Rensburg (106kg) at centre and the back three made up of 3 of Kriel (95kg), Viljoen (94kg), Peteren and v/d Merwe (96kg).......it will be a massive backline.
There are some brutes in the forwards I have named.......Snyman is 2.05m, Schickerling 2.03m and were both over 110kg at school. Koegelenberg is 2m and 120kg.
Thomas du Toit is the 132kg Sharks player that has made Jake's S15 squad aged 19 and who runs the 40m faster than any of the other tightforwards in the squad.
Malcolm Marx of the Lions is a monster hooker at 113kg aged 19 and looks a real hard nut

jeebers, WTF are they feeding those saffa monsters??? those boys could compete with spXV teams on a physical level.

junior world championship is NZ this time round, so hopefully that gives our lads a bit of an advantage.

would love for tietjens to be in charge of the NZ u20 teams fitness, dont think the boys are going to be able to compete head on, but run them and othert teams for the entire 80mins is a sound tactic, and nobody can get u physically ready for that like sir gordon tiejens.

Sasue

They get good and wholesome food here.  The mamas are all excellent cooks.   They  seem to grow bigger every generation.   Most of these guys will be in Super 15 next year as front line selections,

Problem is - they are not only big - they are fast as well.   I had Duhan van der Merwe as my avatar for a while,  He and Esterhuizen are the best of the backline players and he is only 18.  WTF - I am sorry for the NZ players against that lot.

Are we really relying on Dawies Theron to pick them?
JWC is coming back to SA.
Justin Phillips at scrum half is decent.

True Theron is a crap coach and will probably overlook most these guys......like he did Ettienne Oosthuizen, Marcel Coetzee, Neetling Fouche and Tyler Fisher to name but some.
We really could do with moving on from Theron......give the job to Brendan Venter or Rassie Erasmus
