Barrett to Replace Carter as the starting flyhalf for the All Blacks

 Cruden is not up to standard - has not been for the whole season - even before his  injury.  It nay have been that he was playing behind a half-baked pack of forwards.
Barrett  is a better reader of games and he has better decision  making abilities than Cruden.  I rate Cruden higher than most SA flyhalfs - bar perhaps Goosen and Lambie.  However, I believe that Barrett is a better for the All Blacks at flyhalf than Cruden is.      

 Yep beau could well replace Carter. 

 Have to agree, he has a great boot, and with more experience will only excel. Once he gets more involved in the AB training camps and more test caps under his belt he'll be a legend. Cruden has had to much time off, but will recover well. Carter... Yeah well, not sure about that. Maybe a great supporting role and mentor.

 Barrett must be the form number 10 in World Rugby. He is exceptional. Just can he be the the All Rounder at test level as Carter. Easily the top 2 10's in World Rugby.
Carter is maybe the best 10 in the professional era of world rugby. Others greats are Johnny Wilkinson etc.Barrett seems to get better ever match that it is scary. 

 On form it has to be Barret.Not knocking Cruden he is a class player with lots of skill to over.On form,I would choose Cruden but he is over coming injury.As for D Carter.I think this whole sabatical thing is a bit ludicrous.If its time to move on in life its time to move on.You cant be a rugby player forever.I joined the army full knowing that one day I wont be a part of the armed forces anymore.Anyway,that's my verdict on the matter.

barret is easily the form flyhalf, easily the best flyhalf in the spXV by a country mile.

but no team in the world selects a team based only on form, and the barret/crudz is a prime example.

cruden will be the first pick flyhalf for the All Blacks with carter out of the equation and rightly so.
and when carter returns, cruden will go back to the bench and carter will take his rightful place as the incumbent No10.

a player current form cant be ignored, by neither can a players value to the team, a value which has been built on reputation and a trust by the higher ups that he will shine when he needs to.
and with those wise words now lingering in my gigantic rugby brain, i might just cut JDV a bit of slack,
