has there been an improvement in the Ozzie side or have the AB's slipped a gear and come back to the field? It's a tough call, one that should be easier to answer after this weekend's game but hindsight being a perfect science it would be interesting to see opinions prior to the game.

Firstly, no offence intended but the Ozzies last year were trash. The AB's on the other hand swept all before them and had a perfect year, one as a Bok fan I hope they will never repeat. Moral victory in my book goes to the Kiwis for playing on away turf and for being pinged with a couple of sin bins but still walking away undefeated. In defence they were excellent. The weather didn't help the game and I'm surprised that the Ozzies played better under unfamiliar conditions.

So are the Ozzies a better side, a cynic would say, well yes, they couldn't get any worse, on a sober note I'm saying they are better but I'm also suggesting that the AB's had a bad night at the office, we all know how much better they can play.

The problem the AB's face is that if they don't get their act together the wily Ozzies will pounce and sniff out a win. The upcoming test will give us a great insight.

aussies are no better so far. in fact that was a really ugly test that they played better in some of last years games, especially in most of the first test last year against new zealand. ewen is stuffing them up badly he is so much worse than deans and way worse than jake. nice one suits in the boardroom.

I have the impression that the Wobblies are getting better. Not so sure about ewe' selections @ 9 & 10.
ABs had a typical under performing first test. I expect a players to lift the game in this second test.

talking about the halfback pairing....it's clear to me that Nick White is no international scrummie and that Phibbs is the better player  and that Foley is their best flyhalf. I think McKenzie has stuffed up big-time by playing Beale in that same slot.

I agree completely denny, Phibbs/Foley would be a far better pairing. I only hope they don't lose badly enough against the ABs this week, to change to this pairing for our game.

I would say the Aussies are marginally better. Their scrum is still weak but a bit better. Hooper lifts an otherwise ordinary loosie combo. Their centres are ordinary. Folau has been contained and seems unable to find a way to inject himself when things aren't going his way.

ABs by 15.

It's obvious,  the ABs are the side they have always been and oz are on the up. Their scrum was better than NZs quashing the theory that oz have a suspect scrum. Hooper is by some distance the best 6 in the game, they need to add the very impressive higginbottom to the loose trio and start with Foley at 10 with beale moving to 12.
Forget Phips he is average. Ashley Cooper is probably the best 13 in the game right now along with fikitoua.
They need to lose mc cabe on the wing. When is speight available for them.
One certainty is that oz and nz will beat us with ease home and away

Denny the answer is easy. Oz on the rise and wee abs slipping.

Judging by his Avatar Gonzo is better looking than HasBEEN, who is a tall thin straw, by all accounts.

Something else about the 12-12 draw (and the Loftus "fiasco" as some clowns would like to view it):

Some facts as they stood this time last week:

South Africa have won all of their last five matches,
scoring 171 points and 22 tries. (For TTM - take note of the number of tries)

South Africa have won seven matches in a row.

Australia have won all of their last five matches,
scoring 146 points and 17 tries.

Australia are on a winning streak of seven matches.

New Zealand have won all of their last five matches,
scoring 138 points and 15 tries.

New Zealand are on a winning streak of seventeen matches.

One week later:

South Africa have won all of their last six matches,
scoring 184 points and 23 tries.

South Africa have won eight matches in a row.

Australia have five of their last six matches,
scoring 158 points and 17 tries.

Australia are on a winning streak of zero matches.

New Zealand have won five of their last six matches,
scoring 150 points and 15 tries.

New Zealand are on a winning streak of zero matches.

Funny how two games can change things.

And yet again, that proves stats don't show the full picture. They are meaningless without context.
