I suggested well before Dr Moz's did a copycat post that a Bok side could be picked based on the Lions side. Well look how the Lions subs took the match away from the Irish.
Redlinghuys strengthened our scrums. I called for Whiteley to come on and had selected him at 8. Spot on. My loose tri was Kriel, Whiteley and Vermuelen. I would change that now as Vermuelen is struggling physically.
I call during the match for Combrink to come on. What a game he had. I called For du Toit at 7 and Mostert toi come on at lock. All this before wee Alistair moved.Man take a bow Beeno!
It was great to see Allende coming back to form.
Bring into the squad Akker as reserve hooker. Bring on to the bench Kitshoff. This guy is ideally suited to the modern more mobile game.
To me Du Toit can shift to 7. Give Mostert a shot he is a 100% goer.
JP is too slow and we need another wing. Van Wyk is the guy I think.
PLease note how well the Boks played in terms of playing style when there were more Lions players on the park. Note how well Willie began to play. The dumb rugby has to go.

Great comeback.
All due to Akkers and his L ions. They sparked this great comeback.

Beeno blowing his own trum@pet again. We all noticed that he would not emerge from his hole down below until the Boks started to show some promise.

Wrong yet again JW. I was slating that mampara Saffex for his support of wee Kolisi ie well before the Bok turn around. In other words I appeared on the board before the Bok turn around. In other words you are wrong yet gain. It's worth repeating. Hahahaahahahahhahahahaha
Play like this for 80 minutes and we would blow the hapless wee abs away. Please note JW and other kbbs.

Beeno, the evidence says otherwise, i.e. Combrink and Whiteley were already on the field when you made your belated appearance on the thread & the Boks started playing well for the first time. Still better late than never. Wee CC still hasn't shown up, he was backing Ireland so he probably is in a drunken stupor still. Not that we could tell the difference

Don't worry Beeno we will be charitable & give you 1 out of 10 because of your post game enthusiasm.

so,...... you open a threat just to exalt yourself?
this is incredible
"Play like this for 80 minutes and we would blow the hapless wee abs away"
wake up, man,....... wake up,...... you've beaten an Ireland C side, just by 3 points and in the last moment,.......
you cannot pose as a rugby pundit (as you are tring to do with this thread) and miss that the AB are in a league of their own,........ they are still a bit rusty but the skills and the level of their game are second to none,........ rest of the teams are nowhere near them,..... they would have this bok team for breakfast,..... the players who have led the coming back, Whiteley and Combrick, supose no danger for the AB,...... a team based on the Lions would be crushed,..... and as you said is the boks' best option at this moment

Noticed something earlier on the match thread.
After Redlinghuys' first scrum Moz commented that he had been destroyed first up.
Was I the only one who saw the massive early shove from Ireland in that scrum?
Question is, how long do we keep Strauss as skipper? Also, if he does remain skipper but Whiteley is inspiring and leading the charge on the field...does that have the potential to cause issues?
Also, the last penalty of the game. Whiteley was the only one who had the presence of mind to make sure Jantjies kick was chased. Stood there like he was want ng for the gun in 100m sprint. Strauss was standing there twiddling his bloody thumbs. So Strauss, the very experienced "test level" skipper wasn't aware of that situation and that Ireland could potentially launch one more attack until Whiteley spelled it out for him? Some pretty basic knowledge there and shocking that the Bok skipper should be oblivious to it.
Thus far all the evidence points to Whiteley being fit for skipper and Strauss not so much. I doubt that anyone who saw the game today, and last week for that matter, would disagree.

Also after his try, the way he yelled at them all to inspire themselves. Make him captain and we can drop Strauss to the bench or even drop him completely. It's a sad day when the players look like they just going through the motions with no pride in the jersey.

Well Basque, you predicted another bok loss and you were wrong....yes, the Boks crawled home in the end, but did well to come back from 19-3.

Whiteley for captain & for starting at no. 8. The guy has a presence and an air of confidence & he leads by example.
