Beeno does acknowledge however that injuries may force a change or even changes.

Beast, Bissie, Jannie, Etzebeth, Bekker, Brussouw, Spies (VC) and Elstadt.

Hougaard, Morne, Habana, Frans, Jean, JP and Lambie.

End of Story.

Biggest danger is ou Meyer may conclude there are too few bulle in the side. However the games against the Highlanders and Chiefies may solve that - we shall see.

Good pack of forwards, although I'd be tempted to start the classy Coetzee ahead of Elstadt and Taute is a def ahead of Jean and Mvovo ahead of Habana, with Jantjies ahead of Morne

Nope you have to have at least one enforcer type loosie and Elstadt is the man - a certainty  -the first loose forward I would pick for the England tests.

Coetzee would be better than Spies in my book. Look at his stats.

Most likely to be the side, however i agree with Saf on this one, I would rather have Elstadt on the bench and Coetzee there. As for the backline that looks like the most likely backline he will pick.

I gather you have Jean as captain?

Nope Elstadt only brings the bruiser element to the equation. Coetzee brings an attacking element to the table and is a hard nut who will provide enough enforcement. Nope Spies is a must to start at 8.

I like Elstadt and it might be an option to start with him in order to soften the opposition up and then bring on the better rugby player in Coetzee.

If we choose your backline, we will lose to England

I think in essence that is the way Meyer would go with the team - but I have two very serious problems with the team - namely Steyn at flyhalf and Spies as no 8.   Steyn is a kicker - no real flyhalf - and he neutralizes back line play and is bad in defence.   Spies is a show pony - big and strong, but without real substance.

I would rather see Lambie as flyhalf and Taute or Aplon as full back players - both can be used as wings or in the case of Taute as a center as well.    Another alternative would be to play Pieterse as full back - he is by far the best SA full back in Super 15 - that would really add value to attack by the team as a whole and the backline in particular.

I would play Coetzee at no 8 and Elstadt at flank - that would really be a superb combination.

Mike I am glad you see that  Coetzee looks like a natural number 8. Wonder if he has played there before.

Go and see the article I posted re Morne. It is interesting to note the bulle have scored a heapof tries with him at flyhalf. The conclusions are obvious - he is not merely a kicking flyhalf.

No more propaganda Dave. Lets keep it real please - we cant leave it all up to Moz and his faulty moztroscope.!!!

Beeno I reckon you have pretty much nailed it man. Based on form, experience, the fact that Meyer is an ex Bull, I reckon your team is the team he will go with. And it is big of you to admit that Morne is more than just a kicking flyhalf, because the Bulls backs must be getting some decent ball to score tries as they are....although, that is behind a strong pack, if the Bulls/Boks pack are under pressure, Morne really isn't the same player.

Yes that's the team. I think it's the right one.....except for the loosies. Spies is proving to be ineffective even in the S15.....an empty suit. And we have never done that well without real ball players among the loosies.  I'd play Coetzee in place of Elstadt. Who to play at number 8 is a mystery. Where is Big Joe....he was always technically superior to Spies. Failing that I'd rather play Keegan Daniel but then you would need an Elstadt type to add grunt.

Beeno there's not much different he can do.  Leave the stupid comments and your post carries more value.

Jean should be the captain.  Yes, there are people who say he is slow etc.  But you need the experience and defensive organising he will bring.  I just did not like his attitude when the fight broke out between the Stormers and the Cheetahs - he needs to control his temper.

Spies is playing below par in many games, but you do not really have an 8 that is much better.  For all the hype, Alberts is playing even worse.  Elstadt may be an option but he is not a specialist 8 and that may cost us in the defense side.  If Schalk was fit, that would solve the problem quickly - also the captain issue will be a non-issue.

Hey lunatic this is gentle leg pulling re Dave. Moz I have also know for many years and the moztroscope is an old joke we have between us - it having a fualty lens etc. Relax boet!

Elstadt is at 7 where he walks the side. If you play Spies and mall man brussouw you must have a big enforcer type loosie in my very humble opinion.

What are you talking about re Jean and the handbags incident? All I saw was him trying to separate handbaggers. Jean will I believe get the nod which will cap his illustrious career very nicely.

OK who is the bright spark who nominated ":sell your centers" Jaantjies at #10.....

Remember this is a test side not the "Queens S15 wankers"

Morne will be the #10 only because Goosen is injured.

Grant will be the second selection for #10 and Lambie will be at #15.

Habana will be #11 even at this stage of his game he is the better of the left wings available...also like Aplon.

AJ Jantjes cannot be in the picture right now. With Goosen out of the picture its Morne, then Lambie and then Grant.

I liked the look of that new cheetahs flyhalf Riaan somebody or other   - keep  awatch on him. Also I would like to see how Willie Le roux would go at flyhalf which apparently is his normal position.

@Beeno - Riaan Smit. decent flyhalf, nothing spectacular, and won't really put a foot wron either.

Willie Played a few games at Flyhalf for Boland he has some experience there. However that is not where he made his name. His best position is fullback. Las year when Willie was still at Boland I struggled why we were playing Jantjies at 15 when it was clear that he is past it. When we had the Genius of Willie Le roux at Boland for the Stormers. but yes Stormers guys don't always want to give the Boland okes the chance they deserve. Luckily Griquas saw him and now he is playing for the Cheetahs. Again however I would much rather see him at the Back than Danniller. He is very potent in space from the back.
