Ben O’Keeffe to Ref France vs Boks Quarter final

This is the same person who officiated the Ireland vs. Boks game.

Overall, I think the refereeing has been good at the World Cup.
However, I don't rate O'Keeffe, who seems like one of those referees who brings their personality into the game instead of letting it flow. It is easy for a team to get on the wrong side of him with his pedantic nature, and he appears emotional instead of composed. He blows the whistle against both teams whenever he gets a chance to be the star of the match. 

There were numerous decisions in the Ireland game that I did not understand, especially regarding the ruck. For example, in the last play of the game with the Boks camped on the Ireland line, the ball emerged from the ruck, only for the ref to blow his whistle and end the game.
The Irish were also penalized frequently as well. That might also explain why it was such a low-scoring match. 

The Boks had forward domination at the end of the game, but O'Keeffe found a way to blow his whistle.

I don't usually complain about referees, but some say say O'Keeffe is related to Bryce Lawrence. 

BOOM! boks are eliminated before the game kicked off. 

Though, the boks had their opportunities to win, but the screwed it up. So he isn't the worth. 

But as you say, emotional and the occasion with a passionate French home crowd might swing the reff. Or it will be baguettes up the jacksy for the poor reff

It's unlikely that the Boks will have a ref problem. I can't really recall the last instance where the ref was a particular problem. In other words, the Boks have it all to do, and their fate rests in their hands! If anything, the trend is for their opponents to weather periods of bad reffing. 

This ref is a crook as that last ruck proved. No use pussy footing round it. The NH mean to win the RWC by fair means or foul. 

I suspect the Kiwis will also be up against a biased ref. Time will tell but in O'Keefe's case the past cannot be ignored. 

Beeno, my old fiend, let me reassure you O'keefe is as fair minded as all kiwis and he will do what is expected of him

I like Ben O’keefe….he lets the game flow, doesn’t get hysterical, relates well to the players and I have never sensed any bias or agrndas. We could do far worse.

JW if he is as fair minded as a kiwi you now have me truly worried. Wasn't Bryce Lawrence a kiwi. 

 Not a kak reff, but no superstar either....not a crook, but let's hope he's not overwhelmed by t he occasion. 

Gosh I hope France don't do something awful and beat you guys fair and square!

Yes agree JW. Trouble is they stuff up, a side loses as we did against Ireland and clowns here go after Rassie. 

I don't have much confidence that Boks or NZ will get a fair shake but hope to be pleasantly surprised. 

I think the Ireland claim to being the best side in the world has a chance of unraveling. Uneasy lies the head that bears the crown oaks.

Don't like O'Keefe. At least he can't speak French and won't socialise with the French Team (as he did with the Irish) while penalising the Boks.
