Against a tiring defence he is going to cause havoc on the fringes, plenty to be positive about after half a dozen games of rugby and a lifetime of league, I think those supporters calling for him not to start again, expecting instant results need to wind their necks in a bit.

Poi-e, he had flashes of brilliance but still needs to concentrate on his core duties if playing fullback. I noticed he made a tackle at one stage on the Lions 22 then hung around the ruck (league style) whilst the Lions spun it out and rooted it down the paddock! He should already have been heading back to cover. I guess he'll learn from that.

He's not worth the $500,000 p.a, plus endorsements... not at his age . Now Folau, he'll be a star .

A good run at the end to get the try, but never, never, ever let go of a tackled player if they stand still. It was good attack but worse defence, otherwise Marshalls performance was just solid. Agreed with Moola, he did seem absent at times in his position- like he was late for work...

3ku1: He scored 54 fantasy rugby points in the Lions game so you probably are right on both points. When I watched the game again you could see his hesitation, enthusiasm & occassional brilliance. He does look like he unsure of himself still & this is to be expected.
So I agree, he is vulnerable (could expose the Blues & other teams could take advantage) but he could score a lot of points in Fantasy rugby.

people also forget that israel folaus first couple of games were shit, very similar to marshalls first starting game, and now look at folau.

i agree with poie saying that benji vs tiring defence is going to be killer, he was quite lethal and shows plenty of promise especially in that last 10mins.

i also agree with moolaa, benji needs to do the fullbacks basic to do list.
how many tiumes did the lions kick the ball deep only for marshall to be no where to be seen??? was annoying seeing halai and piutau have to scramble back as often as they did to cover for benjis absence.

all in all marshall was very ordinary for the first 65minutes, but for the last 15mins that benji magic all us NRL fans are familiar with was looking the goods..
he will get better with more game time under his belt.

also having second thoughts about him at fullback, he does look very natural at fullback, but if the blues didnt have hickey who has done nothing but impress me with every second he has played, i would prob want benji for the No10.

good to see piutau was still his dangerous self despite not playing in his No1 position of fullback.
