Anyone yet spot any newbies that look as promising a the Lions very fresh Wandile Simelane?
Looks like he's got some xfactor and a nice bit of ball sense. Yes it's early, obviously. Still, when we're so dry on centres its good to see chap with seeming potential hit the scene.
What did those that watched think of Augustus the Trokkie yesterday. I could only watch the first 40 and he didnt do a great deal. He get any better?

Sim is an interesting prospect. He has the athletic abilities, there is no question about that. There were moments of butter fingers though, and he was virtually untested defensively. I think he is in the right team for his attributes, so we'll see how it goes. I don't think he'll be competing with Am and Kriel this year though. I haven't seen anything to suggest that.
We have a lot of good runners in space. What we need is a good hard-nosed centre to create space. I think that's what we're lacking most. I wonder how long it'll be before Sim finds himself on the wing. Could be a force there.
Load shedding? You should shed SA Plum! I'm sure a bright fellow such as yourself could make a plan.
Carlu Sadie would be my pick for an excellent newbie thus far this season.

Canada is a beautiful place. As far as I know it's rated within the top 3 best countries to live in. I too would not survive my first winter there.
As for "newbies" ... I like the look of Simelane and hope that Augustus gets an extended run at 8. I rate hm highly and can't wait to see more of him.
