Best number 15 for 2016

Candidates are Smith, Dagg, Folau, Hogg, Kearney.....and nominations from the floor. My pick is Hogg. Brilliant play in a less than brilliant team. Of the NZ candidates I prefer Ben Smith, although Dagg has been good as well. Folau has also brilliant on occasions but less consistent.

 As stated elsewhere, the less than brilliant team might be the factor that allows that player to appear more brilliant than others.

 Liam Williams has been quite good in an average Welsh side lately. 

 Dagg for mine ,dunno why he wasnt in Chicago but he would have helped our territory game heaps .Dude has made a massive comeback and I hope those grubby ,grasping french turds keep their fecking hands off !Trad is right in one respect ,the likes of Ben Smith and Dagg would come back as worse players after being tainted by french rugby or NH rugby in general.Rene Ranger comes to mind there .

Dagg and Smith are neck & neck IMO. Dagg is really playing his best rugby in a long while and yes he has  cannon for a boot. Smith has been one of the best for several years now and when he is on the field more things click. If forced to rank them I would pick Smith first.
Beeno, given his lack of rugby acu* men will no doubt pick wee Willie

 I'm a big Dagg fan,... last year almost everybody was putting him down,... saying he had lost all his rugby, that he didn't deserved to be included in the WC squad, that he was playing crap, etc., etc.,... there's still an extended believe that last couple of years Dagg was through a kind of crisis (from which he has recovered this year),...

this is BS,... last year he played only 4 SR games,... but he played them extremely well, at his usual level, at the same level showed this year,.. if his stats in those 4 games are taken and extrapolated to the whole comp he would have led almost all the stas, metres, clean breaks,... then he got injured for the rest of the SR season and made his comeback (probably earlier than it should have been) in the test against Samoa,... the AB had a bad day, all the players were quite average and so was Dagg,... then he played another RC match where he was still finding his game after a lenghty injury,... and then discarded for the WC,... I then said it was a big mistake to include an injured Naholo instead of Dagg,... and still stand for it,... as again st the idea of Dagg having a crisis in his game,... he's always been one of the bests FB (even outside back) in the world

having said that, Ben Smith is the best FB and outside back in the world (with Dagg as second),.... he's not only the most secure (rarely makes mistakes) but his elegance on the field is second to none,... he could have had not a very brilliant or spectacular test season,... but still the best
