What a great name!

I first heard this chap's name about 2 years ago when someone was touting him for future international honours and I remember thinking what an unusual name it was. It sounds almost American Indian or something like that. Anyway, looks like he's finally cracked the Pom team and he'll be starting at #12 against the Scots with Brad Barritt outside him at #13. Any of our Pom-based posters think that Twelvetrees can make up for the loss of the very impressive Manu Tuilagi? Becs? Dave?

In the absence of Becs and snapster and other pom based postrs - cant say as I havent seen him play but its unlikely as Tuilagi is, as you said rooitwit, an impressive player.  We bottled him up but he smacked the wee abs.

What is more important is who will win the game. Here one has to back England although Becs did say they had a number of injuries.

Its a full time job keeping up with all these games.

 I can understand your fascination with his name chimp ou.

Agreed its a great name. He is a handy player but not convinced he is a 13 - he usually plays 12 and has played 10.

Big unit at 100kg, he is not too bad

No, it's more of an English name, like Littlejohn and all the other names that sound like members of Robin Hood's band of Merry Men :)

He has a fantastic name, his Dad took his Mum's surname when they married as the name would've died out with her otherwise. Funny thing is, his Dad is a tree surgeon...ha ha ha !!

Just so glad he is getting his opportunity at last.

He is creative, has good hands, but is a big player and can defend well too.

We'll see how he goes on Saturday.

I see I am wrong, Barritt is moving to 13, Billy is at 12.......when Tuilagi returns, I'd retain Billy at 12 and drop Barritt to the bench, he had a great test against NZ but thats about it

twelevetrees is a freaking awesome name, lolz. american indians do have better names though, wish i was named runs with fire at birth, LMAO, :oP

@saffex,
a midfield combo with 12 billy twelvetrees and 13 manusamoa tuilagi would be insane. the amount of defenders england would draw with those two in their midfield would create massive attacking opportunities out wide.

 Twelvetrees is an over rated player and a dam dirty player too. I went to watch Leicester play against Gloucester recently. Towards the end of the match just out of of the refs view he landed a big punch on one player that was still in a ruck. Billy wasn't even part of the ruck but just walked and decked the guy. For me he will caught out one day. I hate dirty players.

 He had a good game today, looks solid. I think Barritt will be on the bench once Tuliga comes back

@kingcorn,
interesting comment, but could there be more to it, something that only the players on the field know of???
its just that it would take a complete moron to try and do something so crazy and reckless unless seriously provoked.

but as sharkbok mentioned, he did have a pretty good game today.
