How unlucky were the Blitz as they drop a ball and lost in the dying seconds. They would have beaten the USA and won the title.

Congrats to the very fortunate Fijians.

Blitz appear to b e improving. Senatla needs to return as he is going nowhere in the 15 man game.

Think Senatla has thrown his lot with 15's and if he can prove himself good enough it creates depth which we need. Kolbe, Dyanti, Nkosi and Senatla fighting for a spot on the wing is a good thing, coaches even think Gelant can play there.

The Blitzokke was badly impoverished when Muller du Plessis got injured.   He was the only Blitzbok ever to score three tries in one game against Fiji.   His absence was badly felt in the game against the AB's in round robin stage - when Wapi handed the AB's victory in their game against the Blitzbokke/   He was equally bad against  Fiji - if not more so.

I cannot see Senatla ever making the Springbok team - he should play Sevens - that is where his forte is.   I would think there are at least two better wings than him and Kolbe, namely -

*   DH van der Merwe; and

*   Muller du Plessis.

I would prefer those two ahead of the two mentioned players - would pick them for bench selection and bring them on earlier than normal.  Both are physically tough - very pacey - good on defense -  with ball sense.

Cheaseou Senatla cant play the 15 man game. Surely that much is obvious?

He's never given it a full season, always juggled sevens and 15's so the jury is still out.
Gelant is too slow to play wing but he gets played there on occasion nonetheless.
Duhan van der Merwe has the unfortunate pitfall that he's a white player playing in a position that can be filled by a talented black player even if it is clear he is better than them. So he has that going against him. On top of that, he isn't the best at turning and does get caught out defensively sometimes.
I'd like to see Du Plessis at fullback, the position that he's labelled as specialising under.

Not giving Duhan a shot say it all....if fans find that depressing, how does the player feel.

He ahs been given a number of shots by the Stormers and WP - but in the main he was ineffective since he does not have enough space to operate in.   For the rest he was plagued by constant injuries - which regularly prevented him for playing.

He is a great 7's player.   Lets use him there - he is wasted as a talent in the 15 man game.

The BB's defense let them down at critical times. Their success in the past has been due to their epic defense. They fell off a few simple tackles, especially in the first NZ game that ultimately cost them the easier route to the final. Soyizwapi was especially poor defensively, both with missed tackles, and high tackles. They are missing Kwagga and Senatla big time.

Wapi keeps going high. Must fix this.

Yes Bluebok Kawagga and S enatla are missed.

What about the BB missing a bigger forward ala the Barret mould?

I in fact think both of them - Kwagga and Senatla - would male no headway to the Springbok team - they should go back and play 7's

That Wapi is as useless as  Rhule is and maybe even worse.  The moment Muller du Plessis was injured I lost hope for he Blitzbokke  doing  anything this weekend.

Wish somebody cold work on Senatla to go back to the Blitzbokke - I do not think Kwagga would, but I do not see any future for him as a Springbok as long as Kolisi is in the team at  6,

Beans, I really don't think that size is that important in Sevens. Good tackle technique is way more important. And remember, for the most part, the bigger players are less agile and less mobile, so where they may be better at breaking through the odd tackle, the agile player sidesteps the tackle all together.
Maybe for line out or scrums a few bigger players will help, but they don't play such a major role in the 7 man format.

Bluebok did you see what Barret achieved for the USA in their comprehensive win over the hapless wee abs! He scored the try of the tournament (wee abs who tied to tackle him are still seeing stars!!! Hahahahaha) turned over ball etc.

The idea here is one bigger mobile player could be considered.

I think that the forwards must be mobile as well.   I think there is in fact anything wrong with the Blizbokke forwards - Visser is an excellent addition.

The problem is that in general - as BB said - is that they are less nimble and slower off the mark  in pace.    That is where the Blizbokke beat them as happened over the last two years,

In the backline the tackling should be good as well and speed is more essential.   Kok is sometimes guilty of ineffective tackling - on attack he is top class though..  That is where we should have bull-dog Kwagga back and add to that Senatla and Muller du Plessis and they would eb abck to the top where they should be. .
