....has rather been glossed over. But the dominance is now almost palpable......even after NZ's first and only try against the run of play there was no panic. Just a confidence that the blitzies would inevitably put the Kiwis to the sword despite the efforts of the ref who ignored a clear knockdown by nz when a South African try was inevitable....and several other desperate nz infractions.
..
It was sad to see a former great like Forbes so easily left behind, the lack of pace on the outside, the paucity of ideas. The game has passed guys like Michelson by.....simply not enough pace.
..
They might want to think about getting a South African coach, the game they are playing is 10 years out of date.....and soooo one dimensional.

It's funny how NZ/SA in the sevens and 15's have got a mirror image of each other

- blitzboks dont have a better gameplan, they just man for man have a much better team. nearly every player has gas to burn and they use it perfectly.
- forbes is the 2nd best 7s player to ever come from NZ, but hes 4 years past his best, its really sad for me and a little embarrassing to see such a legend get consistently outplayed, not just by the saffas too.
- in NZ all rugby roads lead to the All Blacks, but the NZRU needs to invest more into our 7s game, cos far too often our best 7s players will take scraps from super rugby over a chance to play for NZ 7s. i mean ben lam is content playing two games for the hurricanes off the bench compared to playing in the nZ 7s team, WTF??? o_O
but congrats to the blitzboks and their 2nd 7s world series title from 18 attempts, they now only need to win 10 more to equal NZs 12 world series titles,

The problem with NZ 7's Rugby has been clear for a while now. Fact is they have not even made the bronze medal in the Olympic games and in the last two years it seems as if the wheels have come off completely.
One only have to look at the present log to realize the deficiency:-
South Africa - 179 pointsEngland - 145 pointsFiji - 142 pointsNew Zealand - 127 points
NZ has never been 52 points on the log behind the log leader and thus far this year - with only one tournament left to be played - has not been once in the final of any tournament played.
I believe that NZ has the players - but there seems to be constraints as to selection and coaching. That leaves question marks as to the competitiveness of the side. To my mind the NZ rugby authorities should not only look at physical issues - but also at the need for pace in any team. A typical example is Forbes. He was always a great 7's player - but at this stage he is not a shadow of the player he used to be.

Well I have no idea where you all get these leis from. SA dint have the talent to play attacking rugby.
Just ask Heyneke, he'll tell you all about it.

Plum
Meyer made sure that he selected players who were incapable of playing comprehensive rugby or were over the hill when selected and was incapable to change their playing style. That is the reason for the BS remark by Meyer and caused the totally absent game plan from his repertoire - hence Meyer's idiotic remark you mentioned.

SaSUE face facts you kbbs are being schooled by the Blitzbokke on a regular basis.
Now I am wondering if the hapless Blues will also be schooled when they arrive in Cape Town!
