Blues Brothers on a mission from God in 2014.

The Blues look to be on the verge of signing Ma'a Monu if reports are to be believed.

With the return of Jerome Kaino and Benji Marshall in the mix, things could be starting to look up for the Auckland franchise.

 

Quite abit of talent in the team with the likes of ABs Kevin Mealamu, Frank Halai, , Steven Luatua, Rene Ranger, Francis Saili and Piri Wepu.

 

Then there's players like Luke Braid, Baden Kerr having an influence with Counties . I see the log of wood being locked away for the year for Counties with Southland Stags failing in their attempt to bring it back to the Sth Is yesterday. Bad luck Sas.

 

So are the Blues a force to be reckoned with in 2014?

They certainly have the potential to do well and look good on paper but so did the Highlanders this year and theycame to nothing.

 

I think the Blues will be competitive with even the Crusaders and the Chiefs (which will make their no. 1 fan on this site Cloudy very happy).
By the way Ranger won't be playing in NZ he has signed a multi year contract for a team in Japan.

Mate theres also the return of Tony Woodcock which is sorely needed with the departure of the two veteran locks Ali Williams and Anthony Boric. Auckland's Patrick Tuipulotu looked good during the itm cup before being injured, and with the lack of depth in the second row he could earn a lot of minutes next year. 

 They allways start the season well and look good on attack, especially in the first part of the tournament when local derbies are happening.Then they play SA teams and their defence falls apart

 I hope Nonu is given a contract. I also hope we no longer see Sir Kirwan's coaching booboos from last year.

 Nonu has also been linked to the Chiefs. Coaches are starting to see him in a new light after the 4 nations. Certainly did'nt disgrace himself against SA.

Nonu's an enigma and it's ironic how there could now be a tug of war for him when previously no one were willing to give him a chance.

The unavailability of SBW has probably made Rennie look twice at him. But who could dispute he's one of the best inside centres in the business.

 they were doing well at the beginning of the Season and then they dramatically fell away leaving the Chiefs and the Crusaders to go through.
