Blues to unleash first ever pre-match haka against the Lions

...looking forward to watching the Blues rock out their haka for the first time...pretty sure the Chiefs have also got a haka lined up for the Lions as will the Maori ABs...
...got my doubts South Island franchises will have a haka organised but will be happy to be proved wrong...
maybe one of the Canes fans can update us on whether the Canes have anything special organised for their Lions game...

 Read that the Lions insisted on pregame hakas for all matches ..... with a 30000 strong  BarmyArmy & the tour a sell out, this touring team will get whatever they want, off the field that is . It will be a very long time before NZ plays host to another sports tournament that will rank anywhere near the financial bonanza of this tour .

Hell there's been reports that the BArmy drank one of the Whangarei pubs dry on Saturday night .

 ....Not all the SR teams will be performing the haka...not as many Polynesians in the South Island (too cold) so more likely only the North Island teams ( where the Maori culture is the strongest) will perform... whether the Lions insisted on that happening in every game i doubt it very much.. 

 ...Was just reading that the Crusaders have a haka lined up as well...and i think they might need it because they will probably be facing the Lions A team... .. i think the TAB may be waiting on the result from tonights game and have suspended betting for the Crusaders vs Lions match.. must be a lot of money being placed on the NZ teams as the Blues are now paying $2.70 down from $2.90 for the win..

Jeez Brycy, don't wanna say I told you so, but I told you so . Reckon the TAB will end up with the Lions at $1.90 & Csders $1.85 .

Hi Cloudy, hakas make for great tv & the decision was probably from the men in suits . Given the number of Polynesians in the Blues , the Samoan haka, the siva tau, should've been used. 

Btw. & Ffs., why oh why, do these dkheads insist on including the throat-slitting gesture in the haka ? Especially after the London tragedy. First we have the minute's silence for the victims, then this ferocious haka.

It might be better to return to the 'hanging up the washing' style haka. Looks more welcoming anyway.

Yep I had the same thought Blob.....the most respectful thing the Bloos could have done wasn't the minute's silence, it was toning down the Haka.

 Moz, as you probably know, the t.s. haka's relatively new, created & trademarked by the AB players at the time . On a tour of this nature they should have stuck with their traditional haka ...... lightbulb moment , last night's haka was the creation of the Blues team .

Generally I don't mind the Haka, when the ABs played in Chicago the crowd loved it....but today's version was not my favourite.

I remember this haka's 'debut', twas a test against the Boks & I went apesh!t with rage in my lounge .......... & we lost . Hate the throat-slitting part.

It's a good way to take the heat off the Lions loss to the Blues by diverting attention to the haka. Next thing the haka will be blamed for World War III.
Suck on this Lions -->You lost to the Blues -->and ALL of Maro Itoje's  jumping up and down like an idiot will not change that. Too funny.
