Pollard made a very good penalty line kick - for the rest he was so-so. Very tight game - but the Blues will have the wind behind them after halftime and we may see a different outcome.

Maaik, in tight games like this, a bit of luck swings things. Who's gonna be the lucky team?

Another Blues try.
The Bulls are just terrible. Had such hope for them this year. Now that captain sub-par has returned I think it's safe to say their season is a screwed.
Poor defensive decisions, all at sea on attack and zero cohesion in any other facet.
Well done Dollis. Well done.

The Bulls played Mozart's game. They got a rare turnover and the recipient kicked the ball straight into the hands of the full back - a Fat Fransie speciality.
De Jager made a line out steal 5 meters out and a maul followed - Van Zyl passed the ball behind the tryline to a forward and the result is a five yard scrum for the Blues - result a try for the Bulls. Bad news that lot.

Schoeman on with 20 to go.
Let's see if he can lift the backs.
Oh gosh...He fluffs his first kick.
Facepalm!

The Bulls are definitely not disappointing, they are their usual inept, poorly coached side. A bunch of talented individuals each running their own lines and scr3w the rest.
Without a decent plan and clear thinking players who form a unit there can be very little success. The big problem for them lies in the "spine" of the team. The line from hooker to fullback. Piet van Zyl is a danger to himself and Pollard is still static. Note that the follow-up behind the ball carrier is lacking and as such the ball is easily turned over or it results in a penalty. There are holes big enough for a herd of Buffalo to run through the defence at the back.
The Bulls will only be good again once the have a decent coach. This Broederbond control over the union is one of their biggest problems.

Pollard replaced by Schoeman at minute 63 - according to some an early replacement.
Machiavelli
You summed this up very well - poorly coached and very bad team performance. Bad news. They need a proper coach.

Piet van Zyl. OMG!
He runs a lateral line and then gives a hospital pass to the centre who has a defender right on him. Not the first time he messed up today just so stupid.

At least Strauss will get to do the onl y thing he can...Talk to the cameras afterwards.
"It just was not good enough from the boys. We lost too many balls. We didn't pressure them enough. Our defense needs work. We need to work harder."
Blah blah f7cking blah!

Yes, but he wasn't the only one. There'd be a few loosies quicker than the carthorse.
25 Mar 2017, 11:56#21
Agreed, Mac. Van Zyl was a prospect ... at the Cheetahs that is.
He's fallen away to nothing since going to the Bulls.
Is there something in the water there?
The Bulls ... potent in paper ... that's where it ends.

@Clean Cut
A very good example of SA coaches being able to coach the talent right out of a player. We do not have the ability to play the talent and let them think on the field like the Kiwis.
