When I try to edit, the screen immediately goes blank. I can defeat this problem by clicking the x to stop updating the screen, but it requires a bit of timing. Today it seems much worse. I know this has something to do with the ads on the right because it stopped altogether when Ed eliminated the ads for a few days for another Board glitch. . Obviously Ed needs his revenue, so that's not the answer. Has anybody else found a 'defeat' technique that works and does this problem also occur when using other PC's? . I would appreciate any observations.

"I would appreciate any observations."

Here's an observation for you, chump . . . this is further proof that you can't teach an old dog new tricks . . . especially when the old dog is also a stupid, yapping and attention-seeking little stoepkakker.

Here's another observation, Moffie (seeing as they're all appreciated) . . . if you're going to have a little vloermoer on Wardad's thread about Prince Philip and wet your frilly pink panties in public because the topic is not about rugby, perhaps you should make sure your own next post is a rugby post rather than a pathetic whine about being a technophobe who doesn't know how to navigate a simple message board . . . otherwise you look like a stinking hypocrite.

Just a thought . . . use it, don't use it . . .

Actually I have no problem with WD posting his Prince Phillip thread......you are the person who berate those who go off rugby. I have always maintained, correctly, that a bit of posting diversity makes for a stronger Board. .. What I did find funny was just how indocrinated in petty Colonial gossip you are. A mind like an old gossipy tea party. .. And not even the most rigid rugby only poster (except you) would suggest a thread on how best to navigate the Board is off topic.

"Actually I have no problem with WD posting his Prince Phillip thread"

LMAO!

Moffie, your inability to edit is showing you up as the liar you are.

See . . . ummmmmm . . . your comment is still there. Your technophobia and general incompetence means that you were unable to go back and edit your comment as you normally do so your comment on this thread is still there for all to see:

"Is this a rugby thread?"

Talk about getting caught lying red-handed!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaha!

I bet the old fossil thought he still had time to go back and edit his post (like he did with the hilarious Philip Van der Walt/Chris Cloete episode) only to suddenly remember he'd lost the ability to edit comments!

Too funny!

The crimson-faced fool caught lying red-handed . . . and then makes an even bigger fool of himself:
"not edited"
Yeah right . . . have a little think about that one Moffie. Be sure to let us know if the penny drops!

LMAO!

Oh I know the weensy point you are trying to make.....but once again you lose. 'Not edited' clearly refers to the phrase before, the phrase you had a hissyfit about, not the posting. . You are not very good at this stuff when someone responds....stick to just insulting people and avoid the repartee plank. ... Schplotttttttt!

Wehe . . . "not edited" . . . hilarious!
Apart from the embarrassing blunder, this is from the same lifeless loser who reckons he doesn't care what I think . . . but here is is scurrying from one thread to another changing this and editing that just for my benefit!
This comment was "not submitted"!
Pfffffffffffhahahahahahaha!

Moz, not an Apple user myself, but sometimes using a different browser also works. "Brave" has an automatic add blocker, but it does not work well with all sites. I  use it on android and PC and it works almost exactly like chrome, but some sites make life difficult for you when you block adds. There is an Apple version.

Brave uses the Chrome engine but is a less resource intensive browser.
Vivaldi is also a nice browser but lacks some of the fancy functionality
You can even try Maxthon cloud browser.  Then there are the normal big ones like Opera and FireFox.
Then the old faithful of the early 1990's has been revamped - Netscape is not bad at all.

Thanks Mach, Apple uses Safari which is generally excellent.......and much more secure than most. Still this site doesn't seem to function that well on Safari. Not worth compromising everything else though.

 Use Firefox.
Safari is the most horrible browser the world has ever seen.
Open source is the way to go Moz.
On my Mac I can't even scroll pages on Ruckers properly using Safari.
Leave a tip in the jar on you way out :)

Not sure about tablets but on my laptop Firefox works just fine.
By the way, I had a similar issue on my Sony Android phone when trying to edit. So its not exclusively a Mac problem.
Try going into your cache setting/adjusting cookies etc Moz, that might work.

With the Apple equipment I have always had an issue.....it got worse with an Apple update, which is when I lost the Board emoticons.....as you mention Cloudy. On the edit function, try clicking the x on the address bar after clicking edit, but before the screen updates. That works but require a quick touch.
