It's hard to gauge how the strategy of playing the guys knocking on the door would work. Perhaps the only indication we have is the RWC year away results in the TN. We haven't played our best team in those games....a few players perhaps but a lot of guys supposedly knocking on the door. Players who were highly motivated to make the World Cup team. Here are the results:

Oz 39...Boks 20.

 

Conclusion.....the B team is generally two tries worse than the A team

 Problem with our B team's is that they have always been sad excuses for B teams........if we had an A team of say:

15. Willie 14. JP 13. JJ 12. Jean 11. Habana 10. Goosen 9. Hougaard 1. Beast 2. Bismark 3. Jannie 4. Etzebeth 5. Steph du Toit 6. Brussouw 7. Botha 8. Vermeulen 16. Strauss 17. Coenie 18. Malherbe 19. Flip 20. Coetzee 21. v/Zyl 22. Lambie 23. Frans

The chances are a Bok B team of:
15. SP Marais 14. v/d Heever 13. de Allende 12. Serfontein 11. Jordaan 10. Jantjies 9. Reinach 1. Kitshoff 2. Chiliboy 3. Nkayane 4. Willemse 5. de Jager 6. Kolisi 7. Elstadt 8. CJ Stander 16. Cooper 17. Marcel v/d Merwe 18. Frik Kirsten 19. Jacques du Plessis 20. Labascagne 21. Schrauder 22. Catrakillis 23. Howard Mnisi........would kick some serious arse against other countries B sides

Crap they would not they would beat other sides B teams, we have far greater depth than other countries and that B team would beat most A teams
