After watching the first half of the Waratahs game and seeing the display of the Lions in that half I am sure the following is the Bok Barometer for this weel:-


15  Jaco Taute,  14 Kobus van Wyk,  13 S'bura Sithole,  12 Damian de Allende, 11 Willie le Roux.  10  Johan Goosen,  9  Cobus Reinach,  8  Boom Prinsloo,  7 Derick Minnie,  6 Lubshato Mtembu,  5  Ruan Botha,  4  Michael Rhodes, 3  Coenie Oosthuizen,  2 Adriaan Straus, 1  Tendai Mtawarire


it weas a close between some players - others were obvious choices,  There were really no outstanding players in some position - but the following came close:-


*  Juan de Jongh - but for the try made for him by De Allende - he was poor for the rest of the game - defense remains a serious problem in his case;


*  Duane Vermeulen - worked very hard against the Force - but he was not as good and critical to th game as was Boom Prinsloo.


*   B russow came close - but I do not like yellow cards;        

*  Coenie Oosthuizzen still has scrumming problems - but the rest of his game was very good.  Jannie du Plessis was racing against himself in the giving away penalty stakes.


*  Bismarck du Plessis came close - but he also gave away too many penalties.


*  If Francois Steyn maintained the level of performance leading up to the Sithole try - he could have been considered.  However, his game after that burst deteriorated badly and he was not a consideration.

 I think we must take into account just how huge that Sharks victory was. You dont go to ChCh and rattle the Crusaders and you certainly dont dream of holding them to 1 try and beating them when you have 13 men for 10 mins and 14 for a further 53 mins!
There would have to be more Sharks in that team!

I would not mind more Sharks - but who?  
I looked seriously at Francois Steyn - but he had a very average game after a  really good start.  Goosen had a very good game against the Brumbies and showed class throughout the game.  He scored a try and that last dropped goal in the game - that sealed the victory for the Cheetahs - was magical.     
I was also thinking of Stephan Lewies as a matter of fact.
However, to my mind the referee punished Jannie du Plessis when in fact he should have punished Crocket for illegal scrumming - but he still was not the best all round no 3.
Another close call was Jordaan ar 12 - he had some really good plays in the game - his contribution to the last try was magical - but De Allende was outstanding in the Stormers game.   
It was a very close call between Bismarck du Plessis and Strauss.
Basically the other three Sharks players who could qualify to my mind are Jordaan, Bismarck and Lewies.

 Yeah, I see what you are saying. It is hard to select the Sharks guys as they were not flash but what they did was gutsy, showed plenty heart and a real grind! Frans may have looked average but he was huge!
Flying home from Christchurch today at 12.20pm, I was lucky enough to see all the Sharks players waiting for their flight. Had a couple photo's taken with Bizzy and Jannie, another with Lewies, Reinach and van Tonder and another with Swiel, Mtwararira and Mthembu..
All the others were sitting in a big group and I didnt have the pluk to go up and interrupt them. Deysel was looking really sombre hey. He knows whats coming. I asked Reinach if the Sharks will have a full compliment to choose from next week and he reckons they will find out tomorrow. I really hope we can beat the Blues but we will be looking very thin in some positions if their are injuries ;-)

I think they may choose the following loosies for the Blue game:-
6  Daniel7  Alberts8  Mthembu
They would still have Botha and Kankowski at back ups in that case.  
I do not think that Steyn is a natural flyhalf.   His kicking game is inaccurate and his passing game not the best either.  My suspicion is that they may rest Steyn in the Blues game and play Swiel at flyhalf - while retaining Jordaan at 12.  
The rest of the team should be more or less unchanged.

Reinach and Jordaan had poor games apart from one instance each. Really half an instance in the case of Jordaan.  Frans had a very good game and one superb instance....but that's not good enough for consideration. Your bias is obvious.

 Bullsjhit as per normal.  What about the ball follow-up Jordaan did - tackled the recipient and got as possession turnover as a result of which he got a penalty for the Sharks.  There were no Shark supporting players - he had to do it all on his own.  Unfortunately Fransie missed the goal kick which followed. 
This is just one example of what he did positively- a type of thing you ignore because of deficient knowledge of the game. I did not put him in the above list - and recognised the positive things he did.
And there was no bias in this case - there were four scrummies to be considered - Reinach. De Klerk, Venter and Groom - and Reinach was better than the other three despite your BS stories.

Not much different from my list.   I thought long and hard about Brussow - and only left him out because of the carding.  Mtembu had a huge game against the Crusaders.   boklogic (who was at the game)  confirmed that - hence my decision in favour of Mtembu.
I did not include Cooper - because of the shortish time he was on the park.
Seven was a big hole - with Deysel carded and I picked players in the position they actually started.   That is why I picked Minnie - who actually started as a 7.
In the case of the no 13 = the pick was either Sithole or De Jongh - with Sadie also having had a good game.  I went for Sithole - taking into account the opposition they were playing away from, home.

Brussouw ahead of Thembu, who was good, but Brussouw was outstanding. Did not rate Minnie, Mohojo was better

 Mike explain the Brussouw carding. He was not the tackler so why the card? 
Mohojo was good - far better than wee kolisi who was shockingly bad. I made a point of keeping an eye on the guy. He does as little as possible.

There was not much to chose from in the number 7 position.  I would say that  Mohoje was good enough to be selected.
