Bok Centurions Club formed

And every one a rugby great....John Smit, Victor Matfield, Percy Montgomery, Bryan Habana and Jean de Villiers. At 91 tests the Beast is close. If he plays in every Bok test this year he will finish at exactly 100 tests and become the first African to do that....no one could be more deserving.

 Some might be tempted to recall all centurions and form a real Bok team. That stork legged bloke Matfield is a good candidate. There was that minor infringement in the last RWC with a neck roll against the ABs but all is forgiven

Grand idea.....I might be tempted to call up all Octogenerians and Nonagenerians ....throw a wide net as it were.

 
And this will help the sport in which way?

Do they plan on making a stand of sorts or is it just a club where they tell each other how wonderful they are once a month?

Seems pointless if you ask me.

 

Problem is that the greats in time started to show serious deficiencies in performance and that makes such a situation unacceptable.   All of Smit, Matfierld, De Villiers  and even Habana spoiled their reputations by overstaying their welcomes.
They are often recipients of player selections on reputation rather than actual performance and that does not make sense at all.   The idea of a club is ridiculous and I am sure the players themselves will hate the idea.  

 

 How many of these centurions are truly Bok greats? I think Habana was a true great. Jean a classy center but a great, almost? Smith and Percy good players but not greats. That Free stater - Rolls Royce of Fullbacks - Andre Joubert was a great fullback. As or matfiled he was just a great conman! Extremely pap "Lock"

 Re Smith - Bismaark should have been the Bok hooker for year s so Lardy in that case would not have made 100 tests.

This is what's wrong with South Africans.....a hatred of success. If this club was formed in NZ it would have the respect it deserves.....which is why NZ is a great rugby nation and we are a bunch of women at the hairdressers.

I have no problems about your legends comment - however - the problem remains that towards the end of their careers the players became liabilities for the teams they played in.  They should have made way for performing players much earlier.  For instance Matfield should never return from retirement - he was plain useless in 2014 and 2o15. 

 Anybody thinking wee matfiled is a great has lost touch with reality! As the great Bakkies said: Victor doesn't always play in the backline. Hahahahahhahaha. I have much sympathy for poor Bakkies who had to do the work of two!  Backline wannabees don't make great lock oaks!Take t from B eeno!

 Matfield was a line-out genius and he also linked backs and forwards (a role usually performed by a back-rower). He also set up that rolling maul well. Only those with a malfunctioning lonely brain cell would think differently.  You need different talents in the forwards.

Matfield and Schalk were good players, but both spent far too much time in the backline. Matfield at 12, with Schalk at 10. 
Imagine John Mitchell was coach, and Matfield and Schalk kept popping up in the backline and ruining his planned moves.

 Sharkbokkie, Schalk was about ten times as physical as wee matfiled and he was a loose forward! Ou JW appears be be confused as to what makes a great lock. Perhaps the kiwis don't have any examples to enlighten him ! HahahahahahahahahahahaGreat locks are guys like Eben, Bakkies, Louis Moolman. Frik Du Preez. Otto . Moaner van Heerden was a hard nut as well. May have left out some names?
