Bok implications....Stormers/Lions

Willemse has no idea how to play 15.....his positional play is awful, and he takes stupid risks for little pay-off. He needs to play closer to the action, but is he just a good step, just like Bosch is just a boot? Combrink....very disappointing, lack of real pace is very evident. Ruhan Nel.....will the posters who thought this guy is a Bok candidate fess up? Vorster ....toothless. Not an international player. Allende, bashing but never offloading, poor passes ....poor hands. No idea how to contribute at the death. Jantjies...a boot, but defensively frail. Nothing on attack. Malherbe....badly worked in the scrums. Bongi.....penalties and mistakes Marx....well contained but still a factor at the breakdown Schickerling.....not looking test level.....pretty ordinary. Etzebeth...great lineout steal, wonderful try saving tackle on Groom, changed the game when he came on. Stephanie....decent outing, without anything special...lost a key lineout and gifted a try creating penalty. Kolisi.....nothing, a big fat zero. Notshe....a big fat zero Whiteley.....clever try

Stormers outgained the Lions 260 metres to 150. Truthfully the Lions constructed nothing.....and were clueless after Whiteley was hurt. The Lions ultimately conceded more pena;ties, but most of those were in the last 10 minutes....prior tothat penalties kept the Lions in the ame.

It was a case of who wanted to lose it more today in the middle of the match. 
Not sure what happened with the Lions, they just seemed to go off the boil. The Stormers started to get some confidence after half time and picked up form as the game went on. Eztebeth made a difference when he came on, as did the scrummie Jantjies who added pace to the breakdown.
A scrumhalf needs to be able to have 3 skills to be effective: 1. Pass2. Kick3. Sniping runs around the base of the ruck. 
Being able to do all 3 things makes it harder for the opposition defence as it keeps them guessing, and space will eventually open up for a scrummie that can take the best of the 3 options.
It is probably better than the Stormers won today- as their season might have completely spiralled out of control. Last season they were hopeless in away games, but very good at home games.
