We are playing Oz at Ellis Park. We have three big loose forwards that collectively lack pace. They ensure the pack has enough grunt.

Have doubts about this approach on a fast, hard highveldt field. Our vulnerability so often against Oz and nz is via the backs. Seems to me we need a loose forward or two with more pace.

We shall see.

It’s a piss poor loose trio Rassie clearly is lost - since when was a lock sized player like Elstadt suddenly an openside, not to mention the fact that he like Louw are the wrong side of 30. We have Louw an average 6 playing 8 and PSDT a great lock playing 7 So every player is playing out of position

Du Toit is the best 7 in world rugby so you are wrong on that.

Lets see how it goes.

Best 7 in world rugby - bullshit he is not even the best SA 7 let alone the world He is a great lock just not athletic enough for a flank.

Eldstat is a brute. He dominates collisions. Apparently, he is playing in the openside flank position in France - which is a surprise given that he does not have the mobility for a fetcher. Maybe as well have one of the Dey sel twins at openside.

We never had good fetchers selected as loosies,  Much was said about Louw in the WC  making turnovers at the WC - but his turnovers were few and far between.  The fact is that the same applies to Vermeulen     Burger would try - but Alberts did zero of that kind,  In looking at those players as a group I would give them 30% for effort and being effe3ctive in that respect,    Npot really effective.    So nothing new here.

This loose trio looks very odd to me too. I was certain Elstadt would either start at lock or play 7. Steph was ranked 17th in Super rugby at flank, and as we saw, his paltry carry metres and distribution was on par with his test performance last year. Elstadt made sense. I think the combination of 8.Coetzee, 7.Elstadt, 6.Louw would make far more sense. We need good ball carriers. That is the life blood of Bok rugby. I used to believe that a specialist fetcher was far more significant, but the fact is that a Bok side with a powerful ball carrier is an extremely potent team, against anyone, anywhere. A fetcher has their place, but with the way teams are organised around the field, with designated cleaners and movement around the field, it can be negated. Jake negated the double and triple threat of Australia when they had the services of Phil Waugh and George Smith.

@Lügnerin: Why must you dangle your jaw for a knockout out blow? Louw ranked joint first for most tackles in WC 2015 (77), which was equalled by Lood. Is Lood's tackle count insignificant? How do you separate the two? Where Louw's tackles "process tackles"?

Furthermore, he made 12 turnovers. Good for second in the competition, second only to Pocock, at 17. I love the way you casually disregard key points on the basis of nothing but a fleeting feeling. Very telling...

Down goes Tokkie....the reason he can't argue for toffee is he can't keep even a few relevant facts in the memory bank. How many times now has he been tripped up by dismissing Louw's WC turnover record?

When last did we have a specialist at 6?

Snorre seems to be the only coach in the last 15 years to know the difference between a 6 and a 7. We should give him credit for that.

Brussow was our last specialist openside flank  ... and then Meyer arrived. Gone was Brussow and in came a blindside flank who had no clue how to play on the openside. We haven't had a specialist since, and we can see this by the many losses over the years. Losses to Japan and Italy. Record scores chalked up against us on home soil. Plummeting down the rankings to record lows.

You can't have your openside flank play like a blindsider half the match ... and forget about any stupid egg laying strategy. Either do it properly or leave it altogether.

Louw is useless. Always has been. How he became a Bok is beyond me.

Rassie has underestimated these Wallabies. This is a poor selection of players ... riddled with quotas, untried combinations, and players playing out of position.

Our front row is a joke.  Everyone a quota.

I guess he was hoping for another lot of praise from the masses for his historic inclusion of 8 black players in the run on side.

I honestly hope the Boks get thrashed tomorrow ... a record score against us at Ellis Park would be great ... but sadly nothing will be learnt from it.

Go Wallabies.

Really?

Tell me then ... when last did we have a specialist at 6 ... or a coach who had the foggiest idea about the sport?

If you are truthful with yourself, you will see the state of our rugby as it really is ... a mess ... a mess that's been brought on by racism .. and clueless coaches like Snorre, Meyer, Coetzee and Erasmus.

Our talented white players aren't leaving the country only for financial gain ... it is a lure, sure ... but who would deny themselves the opportunity to play at the highest level for their country? To be a true Bok and to go down in history?

Our boys are leaving because they know that there's no future for them here. It belongs to the black man ... to the quotas like Bongi and Jantjies ... like Kolisi and Am ... Beast and Nyakane ... and like Gelant and Mapimpi.

Go ahead ... deny it if you can.

While you're at it ... give me something to be optimistic about.

Anything will do.

Agree CC that many leave because of racial discrimination., no question about that at all. We live in the New R acist South Africa as i have said before.

Just dont think the team as selected is as bad as you think. Could be wrong but lets see.

Ok ... so you don't have anything to be optimistic about either. Thought as much.

Some think that an adequate player is good enough to represent us. I don't agree.

Why beat a team by 1 point when you can thrash it by 50?

If the Wallaby's best side lose to this pathetic team of untried quotas, then they're deeper in the dwang than they thought.

A Goat victory tomorrow won't be anything for us to celebrate ... but rather for the Ozzies to lament about.

Pink La Femme going PMS again! Mapimpi is the best Bok wing since Habana. I'd take him over classic players like Small, Terblanche and Rossouw. Not only is he a great SA wing, he is as good as anything out there right now.

Bongi may not be #1 in SA, but he is a solid test Bok. He could walk into many other test sides. He is our clear #2.

Beast is one of the greatest and most consistent Boks of all time. How often has he been injured? Such incredible durability. A legend of Bok rugby.

Am is the best 13 in SA. Not only the best 13 in SA right now, but one of 5 or 6 usable outside centres produced since 1992. It's interesting that the only SA 13s worthy of test rugby since Jaque Fourie have all been non-whites.

Kolisi is absolutely a quota and one most plastics have fallen for. The Damian of our forward stocks.

Gelant ranks as one of our best pl ayers ball in hand. One of the best backs in Super rugby, period.

Nyakane is average, but usable. Not everyone in your squad is a world class player. Even the best All Black sides have had average players.

The biggest quotas since readmission are overwhelmingly white. Media darlings who have hurt Bok rugby far more than any black players.

That said, of course SA is a foul miasma of a nation, and it is one of the most brazenly racist countries on earth, but you over extend yourself to make a point. Your point is not unfortunately not a point, but a blunt and it's in Dr Auge's professional capacity that your advised against further use of said stuff.

Until the official policy is selection on merit these arguments will rage.

Quotas do not favour white players they are designed to favour players of color. Nobody can dispute that.

Of course bad selections do happen.

Well, Poephol ... you are on record stating that Mohoje was a better openside flank than McCaw ... that Morne was Carter's better ... and of course that Kirschner tops Folau at 15 ... so it's no surprise to see your additions to your list of morons ... um ... I mean ... world beaters.

I'm pleased that Bongi, Am and Hamburger Nyakane do it for you.
Unfortunately they don't for me.

I prefer to see talented players on the pitch ... not ignorant natives receiving handouts because someone felt sorry for them.

Good luck to your Goats.

Go Wallabies ... !!

Go Boks. Still can't bring myself not to support the team.

Will be of great interest to see how some players go - eg Herchel Jantjes a dynamic scrummie or Elstadt at 6.

How will the front row perform. Fairly good mobility.

Anyhow CC understand your issues but hope you can enjoy the match.
