South Africa

15 Damian Willemse - 7/10     Was better at 10, than at 15 - but overall was solid, Match winning kick. It would be interesting to see how he goes at inside center.

14 Cheslin Kolbe - 8/10           Made the most of the opportunities he had

13 Lukhanyo Am  - 6/10           Got better as the game progressed

12 Damian de Allende -  4/10          Average to poor. One decent kick pass, but most players would have been able to pass to Kolbe using their hands - not their feet.
He did make one decent pass as well to Willemse, which led to the Faff clean break.
Almost lost the game by kicking the ball out in the last few minutes, with the Boks chasing the game - with a 3 man advantage...

11 Makazole Mapimpi   - 6/10      No much opportunity. Was missing in action on defence on two Wales tries by Reece.

10 Elton Jantjies  -        1/10         Pathetic. Is he involved in match-fixing? Any of us could kick better than what he did today. Every kick was just handing over possession with no pressure. If he stayed on the pitch, the Boks would have lost.

9 Faf de Klerk               5/10         Got better as the match progressed, but looked tired and slow. Some of his up and under kicks were as bad as Jantjies.

8 Jasper Wiese               8/10.       Got man of the match. Was solid Best Bok ball carrier

7 Franco Mostert             2/10         Utterly useless.

6 Siya Kolisi (captain)     3/10         Missing in action

5 Lood de Jager              4.5/10      Got better in 2nd half, but terrible in 1st half

4 Eben Etzebeth               6/10      Mostly played in the tight phase

 3 Frans Malherbe             5/10      Average

2 Bongi Mbonambi            6/10      Solid, not great

1 Ox Nche                        6/10      Solid, not great.

Substitutes:
16 Malcolm Marx                 7/10 -  Pack looked different when he entered the fray.

17 Steven Kitshoff,                  6/10 - Solid, was involved to the end

18 Vincent Koch

19 Salmaan Moerat                 3/10. Below average

20 Elrigh Louw                         6/10. Not much time, but did not look out of place.

21 Kwagga Smith                      6.5/10 - Brought hunger and focus to the Boks. High work rate

22 Herschel Jantjies                 6.5/10  - Looked better than Faff. More urgency, and cleared the base of the ruck faster. Less kicking and held onto the ball which made sense given the Boks started to dominate possession, and the Welsh had 3 players on the pitch

23 Willie le Roux                        7.5/10     -  Experience helped settle the Boks. He was involved in organising counterattacks.

Very liberal ratings insofar as Mostert and Moerat are concerned.   Both should be 1/10.  Jantjies also - I would have given him  0,05/10

What utter garbage in terms of those ratings Lood had a great game and de Allende was as powerful as ever with his go forward A pass would not have resulted in a try - was a great grubber Utter ignorance in terms of those ratings

Actually, Rugby 365 just published their ratings, and they are s similar to my ratings, except Delande and Mostert.

https://rugby365.com/opinion/second-phase/player-ratings

If I watch a game for the 2nd time, I usually refine my own ratings with things I missed at the heat of the moment in first viewing. Delande may score better on my second viewing, but Mostert will probably not

I think 365 was right on Mostert wrong on Allende who wasted tons of good ball.

Dud is a one trick pony…back in 2015 when he was trying to ape SBW he was an offloader, then he was a fetcher, then he was a crash  baller….and now he is a tactical kicker.7 runs for 11 metres and 1 tackle made describes his outing.

The positives were Kolbe, Willie who made a big difference, Willemse and Wiese.

Worst players were Jantjies and Kolisi who made 1 run and 1 tackle and shied away from contact at the ruck. Our forwards will have to improve to carry this passenger.

Both centres are shit but we know yarpies love faggot running looking for the man. I honestly don't know how anyone can work with those backs because they aren't just super shitty for strength but they are also really stupid.

11 metres in 7 runs. Fuck me. Best back of the day produced fuck all. You're funny ex Saff. Tell me, does he give you a hard on? You seem the type and there can be no other explanation. Yarpie man crush. How sweet.
