Beast, Bissie, Jannie

Etzebeth, De Jager

Coetzee, Vermuelen, Burger

(Du Toit, Stauss, Malherbe, Flip, Deysel)

Reinach, Pollard

Jean, Allende

Habana, JP/Hendricks and Willie

(Hougaard, Jan, Morne)

Pity about Marcell van der Merwe - if Malherbe not fit he comes in. Like to find a spot for Hendricks - maybe before JP?

Coetzee is improving at 6 and at least he really works very hard. Jaque Du Plessis also comes close and Du Toit of course  (Lock and 7) but when does he get back. Kitshof has been out for along time but he should make the squad by next year.

Next year the guys who will bein WC squad must be especially managed. A very, very strong squad can be assembled. Meyer MUST stop wasting time with wee victor!!!!

Ag no Hasbeen....Deysel was manhandled today...apart from one over the ball penalty Coetzee acheived nothing. Reinach is not a test scrumhalf yet. And as you saw today, lineouts aint nothing, Victor remains our best option in the most important set play. Well at least you didn't suggest Lewies. And believe me if he was playing today Lood would have been toothless.

So who should play at 7 - Alberts did his normal bugger-all.   So who should be it?
And then there was your "national treasure" who was going back in scrums when Du Toit was going forward - what about him?
If Lood was playing today - sounds to me like another BS story for which Mozart is famous.   Stop your prejudice and get real - at least Lood is strong and carry balls forward when being tackled by up to 3 players - Slapgat Matfield is easily handled by the smallest guy and goes flat down.  The non-physical Matfield would have been swept aside by every player in both matches and you believe he is of a ny good.

That any sane person could believe matfield at 106 kg is better than the superb Loodt at 125 kg is amazing. Its a no contest.

Meyer has a serious blind spot insofar as Slapgat is concerned.  He is likely to select him for the first few tests - but it certainly is not going to last - since he will be tossed around like a rag doll in key matches.   In fact the idea that Matfield is still good enough stems entirely from the concept of Meyer to select players he is familiar with - which normally comes back to bite him.
