Vincent Koch will replace the injured Julian Redelinghuys in the only change to the Springboks’ starting XV to face Argentina Salta on Saturday (kick-off 21:40 SA time), as Tendai Mtawarira will equal Os du Randt’s record as most-capped prop for South Africa.

Koch, who has three Test caps to his name, comes in for Redelinghuys who has been ruled out of action with a hamstring injury he sustained in the first Rugby Championship Test in Nelspruit last Saturday, won 30-23 by the Boks.

With Koch drafted into the starting line-up, Lourens Adriaanse moves onto the bench to as one of the two replacement props for what could be his second Springbok cap.

Also amongst the replacements, the Springboks have opted for the experienced Morne Steyn, who will give the team an extra kicking-option, in place of Juan de Jongh.

The rest of the Springbok line-up remains unchanged from the one that defeated the Pumas at Mbombela Stadium. In keeping changes to a minimum, Springbok coach Allister Coetzee has opted for continuity against a Pumas side that will be lifted by their passionate home support.

“Vincent did very well when he came on as a replacement for Julian in Nelspruit, and he is rewarded with a starting berth, while we believe it would be good to give Lourens an opportunity on the bench at this stage,” said Coetzee.

“We expect them to try and put us under pressure with their tactical kicking. Morne is an experienced player with good kicking attributes, and he will provide an additional kicking cover for us.

“We will continue to build on our cohesion as a team. This is the first away Test for this side and we expect another huge battle against the Pumas.”

The Springboks will continue with their preparations in Buenos Aires before flying out to Salta on Friday morning.

Goosen also offers a kicking boot, and he could cover Jantjies with Kriel on the bench to cover 15 and 13. 
 I would rather have Rohan on the bench.
Qouatpa has no effect at the breakdown and is part of the strategic transformation objectives.

 Goosen was disappointing. 
He wasn't test material to begin with ... it's now been confirmed.
As usual, we'll go with the failures and leave the talented players back home ... or on the bench for the last 5 minutes.
 

Bookies have the Boks as favourites to win by two points. TWO POINTS!! Who would've thought the Boks would be such slim favourites over a team like Argentina? No Disrespect to the Argies, but it does show just how bad things have become.
As for Goosen, give the guy a little more time to find his feet CC, he's been very good for his club and has had only one game back. New coach, new team mates, and he's been out in the rugby wilderness for three odd years. Also, even the best players have bad games. If after this series he has not put in big memorable performances, fine send him out to pasture, but if they drop him after one game there will always be question marks on weather he was given a fair chance to prove himself. It is early in the rugby cycle, so experimentation and purging is to be done now, so that a good core can be established to build a solid side for the next WC.

Still ... I would rather have slotted him at 10. He can't be worse than Jantjies.
