I am bitterly disappointed by in some of the selections  -  particular selecting struggler like Juan de Jongh ahead of Rohan Janse van Rensburg.  For me he was really the first choice center.   Then we have the donkey-kicking Morne Steyn in the above squad as well.   And the more-often absent from sight Paige is also included.

How does one select  23 game team from that lot?

15   Johann Goosen,  14 Ruan Combrinck, 13 Lionel Mapoe, 12 Damian de Allende, 11 Brian Habana, 10 Elton Jantjies,  9  Faf de Klerk, 8 Duane Vermeulen, 7 Francois Louw, 6 Jaco Kriel, 5 Pieter-Steph du Toit, 4 Eben Etzebeth, 3 Julian Redelinghuys, 2 Adriaan Strauss () , 1  Tendai twarira

Replacements :

16  Malcolm Marx, 17 Stephen Kitshoff, 18  Vincent Koch, 19 Lood de Jager/Franco Mostert, 20 Warren Whiteley, 21 Francois Hougaard, 22 Jesse Kriel, 23 Lwazi Mvovo

That is not the team I would select  -b ut that is what Coetzee is likely to come up with,

Last I heard Lambie is still suffering ill effects from the concussion he sustained against Ireland.

I am happy that Janse van Rensburg was not selected. He is still too young . Give him another S18 and he will become our best centre. Very happy with the omission of 'afkop hoender' Le Roux. This will be a very strong signal to him to cut out all those stup1d downfield kicking. I still feel he might be better at wing than at the back.

Rudy Paige, Morne Steyn, Habana, Strauss, Juan De Jongh and Mvovo. Poor selections. No disrespect to Habana who will always be a Bok legend but he's past it now. Still, I'd rather have him than Mvovo. Why the fk is Sergeal not in that squad and where is JVRD? This nonsense about him being too young. He's good enough. His age doesn't matter. What matters more is giving the best players the most amount of time in the Bok Jersey. Why wait. That kind of thinking irritates me. Nah, we'll have De Jongh instead. And he's probably gonna start as vice captain. Great. Yep, kiss the RC goodbye for another year. The plodder will lead the Boks to some great defeats against all three the opposing teams this year. This squad tells me that Coetzee is looking to play exactly as he did against Ireland. I had some hope but it's gone now. The ABs in particular are gonna own us at breakdown time. We'll done Alistair.
