As I understand it, this game falls outside of the window where English clubs are obligated to release players for test rugby. That means Willie, Louw and Faf will not be free to represent South Africa. This is a big game. Who do we play in their place? Obviously Faf and Willie will be missed most.

No - it does not fall outside of the test window as you may understand it.  There are effectively five series where the test window applies, namely -

*     The June test series - to be moved to July in future;

*     The Rugby Champiosnhip

*     The November test series

*      The 6-Nations

*      The World Cup

The whole scenario may change in future - but up to 2019 it remains as is above.

What game are you effectively referring to?   There are always 3 tests to be played in November - covered by the test window.   Any further games are not covered.

The entire tour? This is a huge blow. Our schedule is:

  1. England
  2. France
  3. Scotland
  4. Wales
Tough games. France presumably being the easiest. No Faf will be tricky, but maybe we can still work around it. I hope Rassie doesn't choose Papier over Van Zyl.

The World Rugby rules cannot be waived by any club - irrespective of what they say.   We have been through similar reports in the media umpteen times during the RC and Sales cannot decide on their own which rules of World Rugby can be overruled by them,.   They tried the same in the RC and sulked afterwards about Le Roux and let him go..   The only test they can get away with is the one against Wales - the same thing happened to the Wales test in 2014.

Don't panic - it won't happen .

OK - at long last we have the England game as being the only one outside f the test window.

I do not know whether any England players are in fact play for French clubs - if they have they will not be able to use the French Club players.

So which players would we lose:-

Le Roux

De Klerk

Vermeulen

Louw           -  poor performances and Erasmus will not select him anyway

There are  rumours that Vermeulen will play in the EOYT - but whether that will happen is another question.

On the contrary Louw would add some depth. We are already missing Whiteley. His excellent game against the All Blacks won't have gone unnoticed by Rassie. I'd be very surprised if he omitted him.

Louw was serious flop in most matches and could have a detrimental affect on preparations for the WC.  My hope is exactly the opposite of yours.

You'd compromise the team to prove a point? What a fan you are. Personal bias gets in the way of team performance.

@Saffy: Reinach is one of the worst 9s I have seen at test level. I'd rather have Papier. I'd rather have Pienaar back!

Are you talking about yourself when you wrote the following:-

"You'd compromise the team to prove a point? What a fan you are. Personal bias gets in the way of team performance."

Can swear that is the best description anyon e ever wrote about your conduct on site.

Kriel blows Japan test, Damian blows Aussie test, Damian and Lood end our WC, Willemse throws intercept for try. I can cite several dozen instances where you have defended a player in spite of negative contributions. Even if it means losing a test. So, no. If there was a definition in a dictionary for CleverMike, it would be something like that. I say dictionary, but due to your often incoherent English, I correct with "dictionizzle".
