Alberts can't even reach the ground let alone protect or steal possession.
I did read in an article this is a one of the situation- because England does not have any specialist fetchers and instead opt for ball carriers.
Stephanie has been good at the breakdown- so moving him to blindside flank seems like a good idea.
Having 2 big flanks may let Whitely play wider and link with the backs.

Why no one points the fact that one of the standout players of the Baabas match, Rohan Van Rensburg, is not even on the fu***ng bench???
What does that guy need to do? Suck the di**s the entire coaching staff? Ridiculous.HE WAS OUR CHANCE.
Eddie Jones must be both relieved and laughing his ass off.

Word has it that Alberts was asked to bend and touch his toes. I'm told from a very reliable source that what looked like a slight bow ended up nearly tearing his hammie.
It's an interesting tactic to play Alberts on the open side. Perhaps they've come to terms with his lack of pace and hope to give him a few extra yards advantage to the breakdown.
Having said that, he'll probably only arrive 5 minutes late now instead of the usual 10.
Seems we're not going to compete for the ball on the ground. That could be a problem.
I am rather surprised to see no Mohoje. That's a step in the right direction. I hope PSDT has a cracker at 7. It should have opened the way for a class addition at lock but instead they chose Lomp.
Sad to see no Rohan in the match 23. Honestly thought he had done enough to warrant a start. It's a little difficult to develop a partnership in the midfield when players are rotated every match. Besides that I some how doubt that Venter will see much ball.
At least Coetzee is trying a few different things. It shows the man has a bit of courage to go with his stupidity.

Alberts is not only unable to reach the ground and so play a role in breakdown ball protection and recovery - he is too slow to reach breakdown points.
It must also be borne in mind that the opensider must play a role in defense as well. Any opensider normally has a very high yackle count in matches. Alberts cannot get to a point where he can make tackles. He has an atrociously low tackle count and an amazingly poor missed tackle ratio,
So what do we expect from this player who is not a participating team player - he is a player with a virtually non-existent work rate and handicap to any team he played for.

Let me explain the theory to you morons. It's exactly the Jake no fetcher concept. The fact is, we have no fetcher......none. Not even Kleintjie Kriel who was hurt presumably by bumping into a real loosie.
Now given we have no fetchers, let me explain the theory. Its counter ruckling....Alberts and Stephanie will be pounding over the ball cleaning out the Poms....no need for Alberts to bend, the ball will pop out on our side like a newly laid egg.....something you chaps are very familiar with....the egg.
That's probably the best solution we have, having rejected Schalk and Vermeulen.
The main problems are Koch at tighthead, Lambie at 10, and Allende as effective defensive captain at 12, when he doesn't have a clue where he should position himself. There are many other issues in this flavour of the day team....but it's the team fans wanted.
Hell we have had so many upsets of late, perhaps the Boks can show some heart for a change and make a game of it.

The one thing I don't get though is the reluctance to use our one offensive weapon....Janse. If he was being kept out by a rounded, defensively sound centre perhaps. But Allende? This is definitely weird.

If ever Alberts get to break down points you may have a point - but he is too slow for that. Du Toit yes - Alberts never.
The rest of your comments is a repeat of your normal prejudice and of no real value. Alberts is the real handicap - low work rate - pace deficiency - very poor defense and playing him at 6 is a crime against rugby.
If you have not previously down-played the issue of ball protection and recovery a s of no importance - I would have commented on that since it may have made some impact on the issue, but your mind is clearly made up. So any debate would be pointless.

The breakdown point is usually no more than 15 metres from the prior breakdown point. The difference in arrival time is a total non factor.....just another theory cooked up in your overwrought brain. Dream on Tokkie....dream on.
Getting to breakdown points out wide is obviously not wanted Alberts was selected for.....that's what Whiteley should be doing. Horses for courses.

Why has it been proven that props get to breakdown points ahead of Alberts? Why is it that he cannot get to breakdown points timeously - and why does he found himself obstructing the backline in those cases?
I would accept your theory if Alberts was a half0decent player, but he is a loafer and low work rate player - with a totally unacceptable defensive record and no real ability to carry balls either. Just go back to the last two tests this loafer played in and extract his stats and you would realize that he is a useless loafer - a handicap for any team.

Significant players are absent. Redlinghys and Malherbe. Vermuelen and Marcell Coetzee. In the Backs Pollard and Rohan in particular. I would have liked Ulengo playing instead of JP. Faf and Van Zyl as half backs.
Coetzee has tried to strengthen the pack. I like big players but they need more pace and a higher work rate than Alberts who is no fetcher. Pity Louw got injured as Louw, Whitele y and Du toit could have worked.

Good luck to the Mighty Boks ,please stick it to the Poms if only to shut Eddies big gob.

With we have available this is probably the best team. It is going to be one hell of an arm wrestle. Don't expect fireworks at all, instead a lot of kicking and mauling.
Temperature in London has dropped drastically the guys will be playing in 5 degrees max. So be prepared for a slippery heavy twickers.
My only concern is Alistair twak praat Coetzee. He has not settled on a team or combo at all and mainly just picking players out of hat.
I still think that a predominantly Lions backline would have done better, but Jantjies imploded and I think he really struggled with Twakkies game plan and the pressure that was placed on him.
I still think our best back line with the right coach would have been
9 Faf10 Jantjies11 JP Pietersen12 Rohan13 Mapoe14 Combrink15 Le Roux
Or swap Jantjies out with Goosen or Pollard, but have Sweis de bruin as the backline coach
I'm not holding my breath, the boks were extremely poor against the BaaBaa's but at least Quota Mahoje has been dropped out of the match day 22.

Well, Arsehole ... I'm sure you are delighted to have so many of your first choice players in the mix.
Willie, JP, Alberts, Beast and Strauss. It's what you've been crying for. Hope your happy.
Counter rucking, huh? That's the plan? Really? Never would have figured it. Thanks for your insightful explanation. Wow!! What ever would we do without you?
So let me get this straight ... our plan of attack is to try take the ball away from them ... and we're to do this with the plodding Alberts "pounding" over them, right? That is of course if the ball is still there by the time Alberts arrives, right?
There's no need for us to play to the ground, right? ... no bending of backs and contesting with hand and upper body strength, right? This "pounding" procedure is going to cause the ball to just "pop" out like an egg, huh? ... and we're going to do this to a back row that tore the Ozzies apart at the breakdown, whitewashing them in the end.
Of course Vunipola is just going to stand back and let us "pound" the ruck unopposed, huh?
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahhaaaaaa!!!!!
Well thanks for the explanation, Arsehole and good luck with that.
I'm sure Eddie and his team will be completely taken by surprise.

I just hope that when the race-obsessed politicians have a little whine about the number of black players in the starting XV that they recognize the team was selected by their own quota puppet.
Oupa Mohoje is not my favourite player but he had one of his better tests in the heavy loss to the All Blacks and his reward is to be dropped and replaced by the old and slow (and white) Willem Alberts.
It would have been very easy to get another black player into the starting XV. Ruan Combrinck could easily have replaced the hopelessly overrated Willie Le Roux at fullback and Jamba Ulengo could have started on the wing.
So we're not allowed to bid for international events because our rugby team doesn't have enough blacks . . . yet the rugby team is selected by a non-white quota coach who was basically employed by the race-obsessed politicians.
What a joke we are!

Shame! We are going to get moered at the breakdown. That is if our additional frontrow with 6 and 7 jerseys get to the action before it is all done and dusted. While strong and ?? Tey are both slower than Os duRant at 36 yrs.
Franscois Venter will be lucky if he sees two balls in the entire match. Unless by some miracle Franco Smit explained the art of passing a ball to DdA - I really hope so.
Who ever selects these players should at some time just gently ease his a r s e from his butt hole and go and watch (I mean closely watch and analyse) just one game, because clearly the individual or collective have no flippen clue.
I really hope SA win, but with le Roux as the last citadel the partisans will simply cross the border with ease.

11 Nov 2016, 13:04#33
Ask yourself the question ... would the All Blacks have chosen their best hooker and outside centre to start in the test match against the English?
Would they have at least selected them to the bench?
Would they have risked an obvious star in Ulengo over the carthorse JP ... especially after last weekends performance?
Would they have brought in the slowest man on the field, at the ripe old age of 32, as their openside flank, having NEVER played the fetcher role for obvious reasons?
It boils down to poor decision making. Time and time again.
They're hanging on to the elderly Beast (31 years old) and keeping his better, younger (24 years old), stronger (Kitshoff) on the bench for the last 10 minutes. Where is the logic in that?
They have no plans on playing Mbonambi at all ... yet he's occupying the bench as a replacement.
It just goes on and on.
The English have a settled side. A side that just cleaned the Ozzies up to nil ... in their back yard ... and we're still faaking with combinations?
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaaaa!!!
It's going to be a slaughter and I'm looking forward to it.

TO START; (should have been imho)
WILLIE LE ROUX
RUEN COMBRINK
JESSE KRIEL
ROHAN VAN RENSBURG
JAMBO ULENGO
PAT LAMBIE
FAF DE KLERK
WARREN WHITELEY
PSDT
MARCEL COETZEE (NOT SURE IF HE WAS EVER AVAILABLE ?)
LOOD DE JAAGER
EBEN ETZEBETH
3,2 AND 1 IS OK AS CHOSEN (but with obvious adjustments) & SO IS BENCH BUT I WOULD NOT BE UNHAPPY WITH FRANS VENTER AT CENTRE OR RAYMOND RHULE AT WING IF SUBSTITUTED.
For me it's not so much the INDIVIDUALS but the way they are coached, game plan and put together and put into practice...Alberts inclusion and what appears AC's strategy is a Wild card in my opinion
But it's too late...this game will be revealing and high light not so much the parts but the way they are put together...it's AC's Waterloo.

No Rohan on the bench.
99% of the world would have started him- or at least put him on the bench.
Delande is a great player- but his form in 2016- is not half of what it was in 2015- and 14.
I say England by at least 15 points.
Alister Coetzee is the worst coach in World Rugby.
The current team could beat England- with a few modifications. However not under Coetzee.
All of his few wins have been close- where he could or should have lost.
The selection of three locks- shows he has no game plan, so anything good that happens will be a fluke.
How can someone have so much coaching experience and stlll be totally useless?

Yeah I agree Sharkbok our backside is going to be kicked to kingdom come...AC is trying to outwit Eddie Jones...they are in different rugby IQ's. We have sadly few coaches that can outwit rugby brains such as EJ's...we have had a few in the old days like Mac, Kitch and Danie Craven...balanced rugby like the AB's still play but with individual skill and freedom not trying to be fancy but individually talented in playing a unified complete game...all 15 players used in co-ordination. It comes off 9 times out of ten...AC is clutching at straws...sense will hopefully be seen in pain and when hopefully the penny finally drops... the obvious proven coach, Johan Ackerman takes over...or S cm idt must come back from Ireland (not likely) and join him...do away with quotas choose and build the potential honestly...there is just so much humiliation SA fan's can take
12 Nov 2016, 07:47#38
Well I'm a little surprised at your team, Sebastien.
The mere fact that your team is made up of actual rugby players has me impressed ... AND ... you selected them in their right positions .. unlike Mozart who thinks it's best to play and old outside back at 13, a full back at 10 ... etc, etc ... !!
Wow!! You actually have a pretty good side there.
Keep those kinda thoughts coming.
