Roos has not set the world alight for the Boks, solid at best. He should get better with time, and replicate his form for the Stormers- but it remains to be seen if he will amount to a certain starter.

Roos has had practically no test time and the start he had against England he played most of the games with broken ribs But time is running out for him to make the squad given he is not playing at the moment You clearly have not been watching the likes of Nohamba and Vincent Tsituka playing - simply awesome

These are good picks, I would definitely still pick Willie. We are not the same without him

Fullback:

Certainty - Willie

Options as back up - Gelant & Fassi  He has hardly played all year, fantastic talent but out of form

Wings:

Certainties - Mapimpi, Kolbe & Arendse  -  I would include Moodie, we need a tall winger.

Options as back ups - Moodie, Nkosi, Zas and Tambwe - NKosi should get a few more games, but an option

Centres:

Certainties - Am, de Allende & Willemse - I would prefer Esterhuizen over Willemse, but that said, his form has been dipping

Options as back ups - Esterhuizen, Janse v Rensburg, Serfontein & Kriel  - Serfontein is a forgotten man right now, Kriel has been firing in Japan, but it is Japan and too robotic

Flyhalves:

Certainty - Pollard - Pollard is Back, hope he can stay fit

Options as back ups - Jantjies & Libbok What happened to Goosen, but Libbok over Jantjines, never Jantjies

Scrumhalves:

Certainty - Faf - Reinach definitely, never Jantjies, has been so bar. Really like Nohamba, but vd Berth would be my bolter

Options as back ups - Reinach, Hendrikse, Jantjies, Nohamba, Zak Burger, Williams, vd Bergh & Papier

Props:

Certainties - Malherbe, Kitshoff & Ox - No problem with this guys, Koch and Du Toit definitely

Options as back ups - Wilco Louw, Nyakane, Koch & Thomas du Toit

Hookers:

Certainties - Marx & Mbonambi

Options as back ups - Dweba & Grobelaar - Grobelar or Dweebs, he is a good player but awful at scrumming and line outs

Locks:

Certainties - Etzebeth, RG Snyman & Lood  - We might see Orie and Mostert unfortunately

Options as a back up - Jason Jenkins

Loosies:

Certainties - Kolisi, PSDT & Kwagga - This is a hard one, but think it will be Wiese, not sure who the 5th loose would be

Options as back ups - Roos, Wiese, Marcel Coetzee, Elrigh Louw, Ruan Venter, Buthelezi, Vincent Tstituka, Emmanuel Tsituka, Dan du Preez & JL du Preez

So we have 20 certainties leaving 13 open spots

I'm curious to see who will be in the wider squad and how much game time they will get. Gelant has gone MIA in France, Nkosi has mental issues and need to have some decent game time. I really want to see who gets picked as the top 45 players

My 13 would be:

Gelant

Nkosi

Esterhuizen

Janse v Rensburg

Libbok

Nohamba

Thomas du Toit

Wilco Louw

Jason Jenkins

Dan du Preez

JL du Preez

Roos

Don’t you think Wilco would be a better pick than Koch? Koch is mostly still solid, but showing loss of intensity like the French game….he had a uphill battle against that younger prop Reda Wardi…the Du Preez twins are strong and play good rugby for their clubs, but when it comes to performing in the Bok jumper they have come up short under Rassie…maybe they just don’t fit into R&N Structures + Gameplan.

I think Gelant, Du Preez twins, Wilcow, Esterhuizen etc shot themselves in the foot when deciding to play abroad. It is really hard to judge how good they really are.

What the ECP showed is that their are night and day between some of the clubs. For example, Leicester got destroyed in Dublin with a team that had Wiese, Hanro Liebenbert, Pollard, Brown, Potter and Ben Youngs. All international players but just could compete. Where as a scratch Stormers team drew with them in Dublin.

So I don't think the English teams are that great. Then, some of the French teams likes La Rochelle are insanely good and physical.

So to pick players from the English Premiership is probably a not so great given that they still produce good rugby and one or two great teams but not the best.

My view is that these guys should have come back to SA last year and give themselves 18 - 24 months to get picked for the WC squad.

I know Wilco is heading to the bulls next year but he should have been back this season.

I also thinks that the bok regulars like Marx, Willie, Kriel, Kwagga, Mostert, Lood etc has earned the right to play for extended periods in Japan, but it showed last year as the boks didn't do so great.
