For me most of the squad selects itself 33 players in the squad. I don’t ascribe to having to have 3 hookers and 3 scrummies as any injuries can be replaced by players on standby. So for me it’s about having my best 33 on board At fullback it has to be Willie and Gelant, with Willie able to cover 10 and Gelant 13. Rassie has missed a trick discarding Gelant, he is on the same wavelength as Willie, he is the only other player that is able to sum up and create like Willie does. Fassi has the potential but needs to sort out his defence first. On the wing we have Mapimpi, Kolbe and Arendse as obvious. There is place for one more with Moodie pretty much nailing it given Nkosi’s fall from grace. Zas could have been but seems injury prone and in Tambwe we have missed a trick. At centre de Allende, Am and Esterhuizen are obvious. For me Willemse’s best position is 12 so I’d include him as the 4th obvious centre but equally he is our genuine utility player. Centre is so important so I’d want to include a 5th. The call is between Jessie Kriel and JVR with Dan du Plessis as an untested outsider. Serfontein should have been an option but Rassie has ignored him. I used to be a big Kriel fan but since moving to Japan and playing second fiddle to Am, he has lost his clout. JVR has shown some great touches at times for the Sharks, always physical but there has been so good foot work and pace shown. The fact that he can play 12 and 13 gives him the edge over Kriel in my books At flyhalf Pollard is obvious and given the fall from grace of Jantjies and the disappointment of Goosen, Libbok is virtually the obvious backup to Pollard Scrumhalf is a tough one as there are so many good candidates. Faf is the only certainty and for me so is Williams given his blistering pace and the attacking option that brings. If we are going with a 3rd scrumhalf then it’s one of Hendrikse, Nohamba, Jantjies, Papier, Zak Burger and Morne vd Bergh Loosehead props pick themselves in Kitshoff and Ox, with Gerhard Steenkamp of the Bulls looking a test standard option as a standby. At tighthead it’s obvious for me as well in Malherbe, Wilco Louw and Thomas du Toit who can cover at loosehead. Koch is handy but my 3 are better. Nyakane was a great option but his best days are done. His last few tests were underwhelming At hooker there are two certainties in Marx and Mbonambi. If we are going with 3 hookers then it’s between Dweba and Grobelaar. Dweba walks it for me, given the physical edge he brings. Some ignorant fools will not have moved on from his poor line out throwing in his tests he was thrown under the bus in. His line out throwing for the Stormers has been good all season. At lock there are 3 obvious choices in Etzebeth, Lood and RG Snyman. For me the fourth lock is one of Jason Jenkins, Ruben Schoeman, Ruben v Heerden or Ruan Vermaak. Jenkins pretty much nails it for me. At openside it has to be Kolisi and Kwagga with v Staaden the coaches choice as back up but I’d go with Buthelezi At blindside it’s pretty obvious for me PSDT and JL du Preez. My squad just has to have the physical edge the du Preez twins bring. Other good options are Vincent Tsituka, Ruan Venter and Liebenberg At 8 Roos is an obvious for me as is Dan du Preez with Wiese right up there. Other options are Elrigh Louw, Marcel Coetzee and the very impressive Emmanuel Tsituka Dayamani brings an attacking X factor but not sure he is physical enough for test rugby - too small for 7 or 8 and too big for 6 - but given his form he deserved a crack So my squad call of 33 would be: 15. Willie / Gelant - obvious 14/11. Mapimpi / Kolbe / Arendse - obvious Moodie - most likely 13/12. de Allende / Willemse / Am / Esterhuizen - obvious JVR - most likely 10. Pollard / Libbok - obvious 9. Faf / Williams - obvious 1/3. Kitshoff / Ox / Malherbe / Thomas du Toit / Wilco Louw - obvious 2. Marx / Mbonambi - obvious 4/5. Etzebeth / Lood / RG Snyman - obvious Jenkins - most likely 6/7/8. Kolisi / Kwagga / PSDT / JL du Preez / Roos / Dan du Preez / Wiese - obvious

ouDawie, when you're watching the Bokke play, & Mostert has possession, do you close your eyes & pretend that he's not there, or do you go outside for a skyf ??  Get a grip, FM's an integral part of our team & will be at this RWC.

Yes I agree Franco needs to be there and Elrigh Louw for one of the Du Preez Brothers…. Because of his out of date Form, Kriel should be replaced by Rikus Pretorius or Dan du Plessis….JVR is also a better choice….it will also be silly to not include Ruben van Heerden as RG is not completely fit and Test level ready.

The Boks need to muscle up. There are far too many pap passengers. We haven'd dominated a team on the gainline since 2019. Not a single test. Our defence is deteriorating, and the gimmicks Erasputin's come up with are seen through very easy. Our opponents have gotten better under the high ball, and are now neutralizing the maul. We need real power. Van Rensburg and RG with Eben; Dan d/P is the successor to Thor and replacement for the weak and ineffective PTSD at 7. Wiese, Dan, Kwagga is a robust and skillful loose trio capable of dominating everyone. Willemse's worst position is 12, then 10. He is a 15 exclusively, and not a very good one. Agreed on Gelant, but he is not a playmaker like Willie. Nobody in SA can do that. Esterhuizen and Am are our premier centre pairing. Serfontein for Damian, and Kriel in as the next pair.
