Seems like Esterhuizen has already put a Porra out of action.

I knew from word go that Esterhuizen was as thick as a brick but todays perfomance show ho w really poor he is.

What did he do - he headbumbed the opposing player and ended up taking the player out with a neck-high tackle.   To my astonishment  he was given a yellow for those two offensses combined and I was not surprised when it was turned into a red.   Would not be surprized if that one was not followed by a match ban as well.

Eserhuizen effectively undermined an  opportuniy to in a match environment display the Springboks effective had an opportuity to practice their brand of  attackingp backline play

Trust the two board stooges to applaud a red card for a 100% legal tackle.
Portugal shouldn't send their girl scouts to play test rugby against the B oks.

Head collision guy taken off. Full off field review done.  Nothing showing but your rampant bias Pakster.

I've freeze framed this to death now at high res and yes, fair enough, the way the guy seems to go limp seems to indicate head contact even though from slowmos it looks more like Esterhuizen's head bounces off his shoulder. So apologies too Beeno, Mike and all referees involved. My irritation levels with this constant and inconsistent meddling in the game is probably a little too high for my own good at the moment.

Thanks Pakie = i tink inttoally it was a fai tackle and thought that Esterhuizen went low enough to tackle being legal - but when I saw the replay I was shocked he only got a yellow  card intially.

No Pakie don’t blame yourself that was not a red!! the biggest load of bull ever!! And off course these 2 stooges will cheer as they don’t like Andre, total fake supporters!! Remember that tackle from Bismarck on carter, exact same thing!! This is getting ridiculous with these refs and TMO, fucking joke… Andre should have gone a bit lower….his chest hit the Porras shoulder so hard that it made his head shook!! Hard luck Andre but he will be back.

Mpower the thing that changed my mind was that after the heads got close the guy's body seemed to go totally limp, that's why his head got buried in the grass like it did - he had no resistance going down. So that points to me to a head clash that knocked him out or dazed him even though it's very hard to conclusively see it on the footage no matter how much you slow it down. It looks like their heads stopped just short of connecting but the Porra seemed out of it immediately at that point, so there had to be something. Anyway, whatever the case may be, sad for Esterhuizen. Don't think the guy always realizes how big he is.

Well both Andre,s arms wraps around the guy and he Knocks the guy forward into a Horizontal state…. Is the guy not out from his head hitting the ground though?? I just feel so kak for Andre as he really looked so amped to play, but Rassie won’t drop him for that and we will need him against OZ and AB….everyone with half a brain knows that John Deere is only there to tractor : )

Manpower I cheered nohing irregular.   I saw the slow motion videos as to what happened and felt a yellow crad was unjusified since it showed two illegal actions  - the one atached to the head bu issue and the ther the neck high tackle.   One illegal tackle justifies  a yellow card but two illegalities was one too many.   I was not surprised at all it was turned int a red.

What I was disappointed about it happened in minute 2 o the game and the teamhad t play 6 backlne playes all the time .  It was a real set-back for the usage of attacking rugby backlie play.

and the ther the neck high tackle

He was wrapping below the shoulders, Mike. It was actually a terrific tackle, the kind that big centers use to dominate their channel and intimidate their opponents, hence my disgust when it was carded. This is the shit rugby was all about, dominating and intimidating your opponent. The head clash (if there was any) was just unfortunate - I know it's the law now but it doesn't make it any easier to stomach. Now you can make a perfectly legal tackle but touch the other guy's head in the process and you get red. I'm probably too old school for the way in which the game has changed in this regard, and maybe Andre is too.

I also feel for Andre. He gets these little scraps of nothing one off tests every now and then where he has to try and make a statement for a starting position. No wonder he was going full out today. In the meantime DDA gets test after test after test to fumble and stumble along.
