This will be what he will take away should the Boks win.

S pringbok coach Allister Coetzee believes that his team is “just one win” from turning things around, and that win may well come on Saturday against Italy in Florence.

The Boks’ European tour is in desperate need of a lift after the team lost to England at Twickenham on Saturday but Coetzee reiterated that it simply meant more hard work for the management team to turn things around after a disappointing week in London where they had a good start but then faded with poor defence against an England team that hardly had to get out of third gear.

In this exclusive interview, the Bok coach believes the team aren’t far away from that elusive victory that will fill them with confidence going forward and is hopeful they can finish the tour off on a high note.

“The side needs one win to get the belief back. We just have to pitch up every week and work towards that win.

“It won’t be easy and every test is a challenge. That’s what I can hope for, is that we move towards that win,” Coetzee tells supersport.com.

While praising some aspects of play – and in particular the roles of the midfield combination of Damian de Allende and Francois Venter, loose forwards Willem Alberts and Pieter-Steph du Toit, Coetzee said the collective performance was extremely disappointing as the Boks slumped to another loss.

Coetzee believes the team can learn from these performances.

“It was very disappointing to lose in a Springbok jersey, especially at Twickenham. It’s hard and tough, to be honest.

“As a group we have to stick together and get tighter and learn from these experiences. Sometimes you give your best and it doesn’t work on the day.

“We were really good for 30 minutes but test rugby is 80 minutes.” (WOW)

This guy is a farce - he has no game plan and wants to win playing the same w at the Stormers used to play - the backline is there for defense only - the ball must be kicked away at all costs, etc.
The problem is also that the good 30 minutes is a fib as well.    There never was a threat of the Springboks scoring a try - when the ball should have gone wide it ends up in the hands of forwards.
It came to a dead stop when Pietersen fouled up and an attack started leading to an English try.   He picked Du Toit - our best lock this year - to play as a loosie and that backfired badly.  
The tide changed a bit when Goosen came on and started to play rugby - not Jake-ball - but by then the match was lost.    
 

 Mike, Alistair has never shown any coaching ability. NEVER.Our troubles however are however many. 

 The Goats will be haled as rugby gods if they beat the Italians this Saturday and the fool Mozart will be giving us all a lengthy lecture on how wonderful the elderly players were and how anything young nearly cost us the match. You know ... the usual horsesh!t we get from this oh so knowledgeable poster.
Last week we heard him speak of the "egg laying" technique at the breakdown. I've scanned his posts this week and am a little disappointed to see that there's no follow up to his incredible "counter rucking 101" lesson he gave us last week. 
I guess there's still time for him to amaze us with his understanding of the sport. I hope he doesn't disappoint. 
Truth of the matter is that Alice and his Goats can only compete against the lowly ranked sides of the world and that's with a team playing beyond themselves. Anything that side of competency is beyond him and his boys.

He thinks that we'll be singing his praises if the Goats beat the Italians this weekend. Perhaps only in certain coloured communities, Alice. The rest of us want your damn head on a platter.
If anyone had to produce this kind of rubbish at work they would have been fired on the spot ... but not our Alice. He's here to take us through to the 2019 WC and with it a 50% black starting 15.

Was this not exactly what everyone here, all comments under the articles and the pundits in studio predicted before the game? He keeps selecting the wrong players, and playing people out of position and then we have to listen to how they played so badly once the inevitable happens. Bloody ridiculous.
