With Venter clearly making a difference as he has done at Saracens and with Italy, is there a glimmer of hope that the Bok fortunes under useless Coetzee are turning. Let’s keep Mr nice guy as the figure head saying all the right things while leaving the coaching, direction and selections to Venter and Smith. The addition of Rassie in whatever capacity can only be a good thing as well.

We have options aplenty, we just cant go wrong:

Wider squad, with near certainties (45) in bold. Drop the stupid 30 test cap based abroad crap.

Fullback: Willie / Coetzee / Gelant

Wings: Combrink / Ismeil / Ulengo / v/Wyk / Nkosi / Tambwe/ Skosan / Senatla / Sergel Petersen / Kolbe / Rhule

Centres: Janse v Rensburg / Kriel / de Allende / Vorster / Am / EW.Viljoen/ Serfontein / Odendaal / Venter / Esterhuizen

Flyhalves: Jantjies / Pollard / Lambie / Goosen / du Preez / du Plessis / Willemse

Scrumhalves: Hougaard / Faf / Reinach / Groom / Schrauder

Props: Kitshoff / Nyakane / du Toit / Kebble / Schoeman / Nqoboko / Wilco Louw / Malherbe / Marcel v/d Merwe / Coenie / Koch

Hookers: Marx / Bismark / Akkers / Ox Nche (better suited) / Mbonambi / Scara

Locks: Etzebeth / Lood / PSDT / Paul Willemse / Jenkins / Snyman / Lewies / Ruan Botha / Erasmus

Loosies: Marcel Coetzee / Liebenberg / Mtembu / Notshe / Arno Botha / Jaco Kriel / Kolisi / Carr / Cloete / Kwagga / Jacques du Plessis / Mostert (better suited) / Kirsten / JL du Preez / D du Preez / Ackerman / Elsatdt / Oupa

We need to move on from Rhule, de Jongh, Cronje, Paige, Dreyer, Mbonambi and Oupa

Notshe a near certainty....hell he wasn't even decent against the useless Frogs.

Cronje? Which one? Ross? He had a great match. Solid.

Dave ... I couldn't help but chuckle at some of your choices.

You have some great picks there ... obvious selections though ... but damn. boet ... some of them suck big time.

Listing Carr as one of your certainties is hilarious but I managed to control the urge to let rip.

HouGat? Reinach? Senatla? Jacque Du Plessis? Kolisi? Notshe? Jesse Kriel? De Allende on his current form ... common? Lood? ... and so the list goes on.

No Dave.

As they say in Afrikaans ... "jy sit die pot mis, ou swaer" ...

Jawellnofine. Suddenly a lot of optimism about the Boks. I can see everybody reaching for this website pretty soon: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/m.wikihow.com/Recork-Champagne%3Famp%3D1

I agree 100% Cera....people forget very quickly. Hey, I very much hope we are both proven to be wrong! Although, even in our fragile state, we should be able to get passed the Aussies and Arg...so we may well land up second in the Rugga Champs.

Saffman doesn't rate Whitely. Left out on purpose.

We will sweat bullets to beat the Aussies in Australia....hopefully we can take both games from the Bargies though.

According to Dave Whiteley is not physical enough, which may be right in a Lions/AB style match. But then he rates the feeble Notshe as a certainty....confusing.

Yeah big fan of Notshe but not as a starter, has great speed and skill - probably the quickest loosie we have, along with Kwagga.

Don't rate Whiteley at test level - he disappears as he is simply not physical enough. Good player though.

Cronje is utterly useless offers nothing with ball in hand and takes 2 or 3 steps before he passes.......sad excuse for a 9. Hell I'd rather have old men Pienaar or du Preez playing ahead of Cronje.

Hougaard needs time to build a partnership with Jantjies, he has been simply outstanding at 9 for Worcester.

One scrummie that has leaped up the rankings is Schrauder of the Kings, always rated him but he played second fiddle to Groom at the Stormers.

CC - I cant take you seriously when it comes to rugby choices - anyone who has question marks over Kolisi after his phenomenal displays against France needs their head checked. Same can be said of Jessie Kriel for the Boks and Bulls of late - he has been simply outstanding

Dave, it's equally difficult to take someone seriously when they pretend that there isn't a 30 cap limit on overseas based players.

These teams including the likes of Marcel Coetzee, Jacques du Plessis, Paul Willemse and Marcel van der Merwe are just pie-in-the-sky wishlists and not to be taken seriously.

Rooi - unless of course they wake up and change that stupid rule if they want to be taken seriously as rugby challengers.

Imagine being stupid enough to exclude Marcel Coetzee and Serfontein with their 29 caps - the rule needs to be revised, which is open to change according to articles I have read on the subject.

Well if they change the rule then feel free to include them in these sides. Until then there is no point.

Also note that the last Springbok team to take the field had 4 black players in the starting XV. I don't think you can realistically expect that number to drop either.

Those are the realities we are faced with.

I'd easily find 4 black players as we have more than enough merit players of colour to make up the pathetic quota........whether they are the best in their respective positions is debateable, but test standard many are.
