Boks need one key to beat the All Blacks and three to win the RC/4nats

to beat the All Blacks,
the Boks need to dig deep into their core and pull out every last speck of 10man rugby and throw it in the All Blacks face and the key here lies with general du preez

fourie du preez, his return to the Boks has been phenomenal, even the most ardent die hard du preez supporter couldnt have imagined his return to be so effective.
his all round halfback game is just class and hes got the best kicking game in the business, easily the best kicking halfback in the world if not ever.
morne always plays better outside his former bulls partner in crime and ive always believed that its cos du preez was the general who would greatly lighten the load of responsibility when it came to the kicking duties, this in turn had a positive domino like effect on morne whose kicking game would also be enhanced thanks to the pressure which du preez help absorb and other factors. which leads to my next point,,,

10 man rugby might be boring as fudge, but its what has defined Springbok rugby for as long as ive been watching them and IMO there have been none better at implementing a 10man rugby plan the way du preez and morne did for most of their flyhalf partnership career.
a strong 10 man kicking game and the All Blacks being a little off (God forbid) would be enough to see the Boks get their 2nd win over the All Blacks from their last 9 games, but it wont be enough to win the RC/4nats title.

to win the big one,
the Boks need to win and score trys 4 to be exact and thats not going to be easy, especially against the All Blacks who have not once conceded any RC/4nats championship points ever, let alone a 4 try bonus point .

if the Boks look to play an expansive game, All Blacks will simply bury them alive, regardless of the Bok fans think, attacking rugby is not an instinctive nature for the brus in green. this was very obvious in the eden park test where the stereotypical Bok 10man rugby plan reared its head once more as if on schedule and the locals (most not all) would have realised this if they werent so focused on poite.

what is part of south african rugby DNA though is the rolling mauls, a tactic which IMO is the one and only thing the All Blacks are not world leaders in.
a concentrated effort this week from meyer on the lineouts is an absolute must, they should get in matfield to give his two cents and help out, cos the Boks cant afford to even let the All Blacks gain parity here, they must win and dominate their lineouts period.

if the Boks can pick up a try through other means, thats a bonus and will make the job on the forwards a lot easier, but right now in order for the Boks to win the RC/4nats, they need to put all their eggs in three baskets strong kicking game, rolling mauls and defence.
if the Boks just want to beat the All Blacks, then a strong kicking game.

the other issue is both outcomes require the All Blacks to be off and while they havent been on top of their game 100% all the time, they have been for the most part.

should be an epic match either way, :o)

Agree that this weekend in order for the Boks to have a chance of winning, it is a must that the boks have a great kicking game.  Fourie Dupreez will added value in the kicking department as this was missing against the ABs. Hence the reason why the Boks couldn't get their expansive game going. 

Don't think any team would wanna play an expansive game in their own territory unless of course your behind with time up on the clock or when defence line is broken.  ABs have been guilty in the past of trying to take the boks on in their own 22, I still remember 2009 as a bad year for us.  Now of course they'll only do so if its on.

I expect Morne and Dupree to be targeting Julians wing.  Seen him drop a few, against the pumas recently and the boks. Up to the boks of course to make something of it.  Expect the forward battle to be brutal, crash and bash, give and take from both teams.  Scrums and rolling mauls boks have that all over the ABs. 

No team is better at converting opportunities to points than the ABs, and they don't need many.  As for the Boks they need more than their fair share of possession and territory to score against the ABs.  Bottom line is they need a really good kicking game, to score and to keep the ABs out of the game.  Easier said than done though.
