The Boks showed what a threat they can be on attack during the 80 minutes. They were also aggressive on defence against Argentinians.

Warren Fortune rates the South African players!

15 Andries Coetzee:
He was solid at the back and he looked good when he ran the ball. He was a bit quiet in the second half.
6/10

14 Raymond Rhule:
He beat a few defenders and made a number of clean breaks. He also crossed the whitewash. He still needs to work on his defence.
7/10

13 Jesse Kriel:
He gave his side power in the midfield with some strong carries.
7/10

12 Jan Serfontein:
His distribution was good in the strike zone. But he did not take the ball to the line enough like he did against France in June.
6/10

11 Courtnall Skosan:
His speed and stepping caused a few problems for the Pumas. He also scored a great try as well.
7/10

10 Elton Jantjies:
Got 15 of his team's points with the boot and he was much better on defence in this game. He was also the mastermind behind Courtnall Skosan's try.
7/10

9 Ross Cronje:
He gave his backline some good service from the breakdown.
7/10

8 Uzair Cassiem:
He had a number of strong carries in the No.8 jersey and he did well on defence.
7/10

7 Jaco Kriel:
Like always, he was outstanding on defence and effective at the breakdown.
8/10

6 Siyamthanda Kolisi:
He certainly came to life in the second half with a few good runs and he scored a try as well.
6/10

5 Francois Mostert:
He did his job well in the set piece and he was aggressive in the tackle as well. He failed to make an impact with ball in hand.
6/10

4 Eben Etzebeth (captain):
It was a good outing for the captain. He did well on defence and in the set piece.
7/10

3 Coenraad Oosthuizen:
He played a big role in a strong scrummaging performance by the Springboks.
6/10

2 Malcolm Marx:
He gave away a few penalties, but he never missed a tackle on defence and he had a few good carries.
6/10

1 Tendai Mtawarira:
He showed that he is still a powerhouse in the scrum. However, his contribution in open play is still lacking a bit.
6/10

Replacements:

16 Mbongeni Mbonambi (On for Marx, 73rd min):
Not enough time to be rated.

17 Steven Kitshoff (On for Mtawarira, 56th min):
He was strong in the scrums and he made a few good carries.
7/10

18 Trevor Nyakane (On for Oosthuizen, 73rd min):
Not enough time to be rated.

19 Pieter-Steph du Toit (On for Mostert, 60th min):
He came onto the field like a man possessed. He tackled aggressively, got his side over the advantage line and he scored a try as well.
7/10

20 Jean-Luc du Preez (On for J Kriel, 60 min):
He certainly made his presence felt on defence in the final 20 minutes.
6/10

21 Francois Hougaard (On for Cronje, 63rd min):
He tried to pick up the pace with his swift distribution.
5/10

22 Curwin Bosch (On for Serfontein, 74th min):
Not enough time to be rated.

23 Damian de Allende (On for Jantjies, 76th min):
Not enough time to be rated.

J. Kriel got 7 out of 10, higher than Serf. Was he that good? I only watched the first half and he was a 5 or 6 out of 10 IMO. Overall the Boks received good ratings but this game didn't answer too many questions from what I saw.

It was an extremely poor game of rugby. Even the highlights are poor. There were a few good runs in the last 10 minutes, but not great.

My Ratings are--

15 Andries Coetzee:  6.5
Seems good on attack, but his positional play on defence has not been tested yet.

14 Raymond Rhule:  7.0
His best Bok game so far. He needs to get more ball on attack. His corner is still suspect on defence,  When he ran onto the ball he beat players with ease.

13 Jessy Kriel: 5.5
Another poor outing. An average game.

12 Jan Serfontein: 6.0
A very poor chip kick, but recovered in the 2nd half and was part of some of the attacking moves as a distributor.

11 Courtnall Skosan: 7.5
He is the Boks best opportunist for scoring tries. It was touch and go if his try should have been allowed.

10 Elton Jantjies: 7.0
Got 15 of his team's points with the boot and provided the Inside pass for Skosan.

9 Ross Cronje: 6.5
Solid starter - because he usually takes the best option. Lacks the individual ability of some scrummies, but has the brains to take the best options. Hougaard is an effective impact player when the game opens up at the end.

8 Uzair Cassiem: 8.5
He had the highest work-rate over the course of the match out of all the Loosies. He had a number of strong carries in the No.8 jersey and he did well in defence.

7 Jaco Kriel: 7.0
High work rate and effective at the breakdown.

6 Siyamthanda Kolisi: 7.0
Allround game. Stealing at the rucks along with Kriel.

5 Francois Mostert: 6.0
He did his job well in the set-piece and he was aggressive in the tackle as well. He failed to make an impact with ball in hand.

4 Eben Etzebeth (captain):6.0

Looked to pass the ball for the first time in ages. Less predictable instead of running at the player each time.

3 Coenraad Oosthuizen: 8.0/10
Perhaps his best Bok game ever. He was written off a few years ago, but came back. Not really tested by a real Mandoza scrum.

2 Malcolm Marx:6/10
Decent game, not many of his barn storming runs.

1 Tendai Mtawarira:6/10
He showed that he is still a powerhouse in the scrum. However, his contribution in open play is still lacking a bit.

Replacements:

16 Mbongeni Mbonambi (On for Marx, 73rd min):
Not enough time to be rated.

17 Steven Kitshoff 9/10(On for Mtawarira, 56th min):

His best game yet. Was looking very fit and active- and got involved significantly. I could not believe how good his work rate was

18 Trevor Nyakane (On for Oosthuizen, 73rd min):
Not enough time to be rated.

19 Pieter-Steph du Toit (6.5)
He came onto the field like a man possessed. He tackled aggressively, got his side over the advantage line and he scored a try as well.

20 Jean-Luc du Preez 6/10

Good at the collisions. Does not seem to get involved of many of the running moves, but brings some brute force. Needs to add some more skill to this game

21 Francois Hougaard 6.5

Picked up the tempo and asked questions around the ruck.

22 Curwin Bosch (not enough time to be rated
A calamity charge-down that almost marked his first touch as the worst disaster ever.

23 Damian de Allende (On for Jantjies, 76th min):
Not enough time to be rated. Went to ground on his one and only run, unclear if he would have passed- had a  player been on his outside.
