As the Nations Championship showdown draws near, South Africa's Jesse Kriel and Ox Nché are gearing up for a fierce encounter with England at Ellis Park. Kriel is set for a bruising midfield duel, while Nché anticipates a rigorous test at the set-piece. Despite England's fresh talent, the Springbok veterans are ready to tackle the challenge head-on.

Earlier in the week, England’s new midfield dynamo, Seb Atkinson, boasted about making his mark against South Africa’s seasoned centres, including Kriel and Damian de Allende. Kriel responded to the young gun’s confidence with a mix of acknowledgment and realism.

"I know he’s broken the [England] Bronco record, but the Bronco doesn’t win you rugby games."

Kriel added, "Our fitness tests are a good baseline because you want to show you’re able to meet the demands of Test rugby. But all their centres are quality players. They’ve shown throughout the Premiership how good they are. So I’m looking forward to the challenge and excited about it."

On the front lines, Nché has thoroughly analyzed England's scrummaging prowess, noting a departure from their traditional playing style. "They’re a pretty exciting bunch of players. We’ve watched Northampton and we’ve watched the Premiership," he observed. The Bok prop is particularly cautious of England’s younger, energetic players who bring a fresh and vigorous approach to the scrum.

"They’ve got a lot of youngsters who have already played plenty of rugby for England. They’ll definitely front up physically."

Nché warned, "We’ve looked at a lot of clips of them. I think they’re very consistent. They’ve got guys who’ve been working together for a while. They get low, they hit hard. I think it’s going to be a real challenge." He also highlighted the enthusiasm among England’s young players, predicting a formidable contest at the scrum.

The stage is set for a riveting clash at Ellis Park, with both teams bringing their A-game and a blend of experience and youthful zest. The Springboks, with their seasoned warriors and the English, armed with fresh legs and innovative tactics, are poised for a memorable battle in the heart of Johannesburg.
